Does anybody have the same problems with getting paid?

I have been with EBay since 1999 as seller and buyer, but have not listed for a while. In the meantime Paypal was not the accepted way of getting paid, but EBay had taken over. I filled in my account details and was told to update once my micropayments arrived, they never arrived, so updating was not possible. Then I was asked to add another bank account. I did this also, had several emails, because my money was always sent back to EBay. The case was escalated 4 times, still no solution. I suggested to simply use my email and it would land in my account - no such simple solution for the customer "helpers". Now the whole thing starts from the beginning, I should upload yet another bank account - how many accounts do people have??? - this goes on for six weeks. Needless to say that under these conditions - not getting paid for what one sold - listing is not possible anymore.

Are you using a checking account through a real bank?

Account information should be exactly as the info on ebay. This includes case...

A second account also provides a layer of protection in case things go wrong. so they that.

At the risk of oversimplifying, can you confirm the steps you've completed?

  • It has to be a checking account, not a savings account, so that it can accept Account Clearing House transactions.
  • You must provide the exact routing number for your bank (found on the lower left corner of your checks, or on your bank's website, or via any ACH routing number lookup site), including any leading zeroes if present. JPMorgan Chase Bank in Chicago, for example, is 071000013.
  • You have to provide the exact name on the account (i.e. including a middle initial or middle name to exactly match whatever is on your bank statement).\

If you're trying different accounts at the same institution and it's still not working, go further afield and find any other bank or credit union that will offer fee-free on-line transactions. I use a credit union checking account for my sales, so that my eBay activity is completely separate from my family accounts. Good luck.

I see you are in Canada. Are you adding a Canadian checking account on the Canadian site?

To sign up on .com you need a US checking account and US Social Security or applicable ID.

I cannot fix your problem.

All I can do is make suggestions based on what I have read here.

First, Managed Payments does not accept "any old bank account". It must be a proper checking account that allows the ACH system to make unlimited deposits and withdrawals. If you are trying to use some sort of hybrid account or a debit/credit card that "acts" like a bank account, you will probably have an issue.

Second, that bank account must have contact information that exactly matches your eBay account. The bank account should have the exact same name, address, SSN, phone, etc. as the eBay account you are trying to link it to. If your eBay account is registered to "Bob" and you bank account is "Robert", that will probably be an issue. If your eBay account has your SSN and you are trying to use a bank account with your spouse's SSN, that will be an issue.

@dburstyn  I think that is the problem. I think you need a US checking account and US ID / SS to sell on the US site.

You can ship to the US and have your listings show on the .Com  site but, I think you need to register on the Canadian site.
