Just had a buyer from France who asked if there would be custom fees included when he purchased with the Global Shipping Program. I looked up the program and it seems like all the customs fees would have been included at checkout so there won't be extra customs fees upon delivery? Can anyone confirm this? I just wanted to make sure before getting back to him.

The GSP doesn't waive customs fees. The customs fees are included as part of the Import Charges when the buyer pays. The import charges are shown at checkout.
On the Shipping & Payments tab, your listing says:
This item will be shipped through the Global Shipping Program and includes international tracking. Learn more
And if you follow that link it says:
Shop confidently
for the things
that you loveWith the Global Shipping Program
- Shop from 101 countries — and counting
- Shipping & import charges estimated at check out
- No additional charges or surprises on delivery

The GSP will collect custom fees even when none are due. Your buyer will get further frustrated when they realize that they paid these fees and they would not have been collected if you had used regular postal mail. Of course you will be blamed, they file a SNAD knowing clearly that you're going to get screwed and they will justify the entire thing in their head, because you did to them first, what they're doing to you. It's a vicious circle, but ebay gets paid and that's all that matters.

GSP is the biggest rip off for International buyers, if you will send a package by yourself it will cost much, much less than GSP....that why we don't have too many international buyers any more....

There is also a charge by Pitney Bowes, who processes these sales. That is included.

I don't seem to be having that problem.
Simply put GSP IS the price of admission here. If there was no GSP most of my items would not be available to overseas buyers.

That's not always the case.
4 lb package sent via USPS Priority to Japan $60
4 lb package sent via GSP to Japan $45 (includes my zone 5 shipping to KY)

But not every seller is comfortable sending that package by themselves. So those sellers that choose to use GSP are affording buyers the opportunity to buy things they might never have the chance to buy otherwise.

I went from direct shipping to GSP exclusively. I still get plenty of international sales. After one too many fake INR claims, I was restricting countries more and more. GSP offers meaningful seller protection.

I understand.

I have to disagree with your statement...
4 lbs to Japan FCP International is $50.11 Commercial pricing according to Notice 123
Let's not forget that I received $13.50 for the domestic leg too.
And even if they did ship via FCPI, I have no damage/loss liability either once it get to KY safely. I feel good about that.

That happy feeling with slip away when a SNAD is filed, and youre responsible for the return shipping.
