We - sellers of this wonderful credible selling venue include this footnote when listing our items - "Scamming Buyers not welcome to look, bid or buy at this store!"

No one is doing this, and if you are referring to me ... well ... I'm not intending to rip you.
I'm simply disagreeing with what you are suggesting because I feel that putting statements like that in a listing is communicating something about a seller rather than the growing culture of dishonest buyers.
My guess is that you are mad, or hurting, or both right now because of some recent event(s). I'm sorry that you have been cheated and/or stolen from. If this thread was intended to be therapeutic, and part of the process of easing the pain ... sort of like a thread where you get lots and lots of people to join with you in the hurt ... well, I'm sorry that I misinterpreted your intent. So if that's the case ...
Yes, thieves and dishonest buyers on eBay are everywhere. I've gotten back two returns this week, and both of them were new items that were returned used ... I wish eBay would take measures to stop the tide, but there is no indication that they are combatting these scammers and thieves; rather, they are making moves to have a site with the most liberal return policies in the world. As it is, we sellers will either have to accept the pain or (if the pain is too much) move elsewhere so that our lives do not become miserable ... eBay shouldn't be painful.

It is nice that you could, not only see the OP's frustration and irritation with the scammers on ebay (as well as elsewhere), but were able to also express a more concise appraisal of the actual situation, and not just say, 'Ah, go soak your head'. (Well, for the most part)

It seems that for many....common sense has been replaced with a strong sense of entitlement and lack of morals. If there is no accountability for these folks it`s only going to get worse. I can understand your frustration but shooting yourself in the foot over things you can`t controll is pointless.
Ebay catering to the entitlement class IMO is due to laziness and cost. They want everything automated because it`s cheap, quick, and easy. Sifting thru legitimate issues/illegitimate
issues is costly and slow. As long as it comes out of the sellers pocket and not theirs, they don`t care. There is no right or wrong when a business gets this big....there is only green and greed.

This is the equivalent of deliberately wearing a "Kick me" sign.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but if I were a scammer, that would be a taunting invitation for me to help myself to whatever I wanted. It would not keep me away from you in the least. In fact, I'd probably tell my friends to come help themselves too, just to show you that they CAN, no matter what you say or do.
As an honest buyer, that statement is a complete turn-off and would make me wonder what I'd be subjected to if there were a legitimate problem.

Your energy might be better directed at lobbying the government for more law enforcement action against scammers. Right now website owners are subject to numerous laws regarding copyrights. What laws require action to be taken against scammers? I don't know of any.

Doing that will only scare off the good buyers and reduce sales even further.

Or just as well, a sign that reads "Do NOT Kick me!"

I cannot recall people from Switzerland, Netherland Antilles, Japan, Puerto Rico and even Spain have ever pulled a fast one on me since I started catering to them in 2005. Where else in the world will you find a customer from the land of Genghis Khan filing a case against 'CDs. not authentic' when all this fine gentleman needed to do is read the fine print. The fine print stated it was manufactured in the USA under license from Philips Records. Where else in the world where you as a seller, selling a brand new item is forced to accept a return that is now a "USED" material? Yes, I for one will play the devil's advocate - Hey yo scheming scam operator, you are forbidden from entering my store.
To be honest I thought this post was made tongue in cheek. I thought you were kidding.
If I had known you were serious I would have told you ebay would have taken your listing down as antagonistic toward buyers. Your tos is not allowed on ebay. You cannot post anything that would make a buyer feel unwelcome.

You may not know that Ebay policy does not allow anything negative like that to be placed in listings.
Your listings could be pulled and you could be sanctioned.
And any good buyers will be turned off by that and hit the back button.
The bad buyers may consider it a challenge~they know you can't stop them from looking, bidding, or buying. Even if you cancelled their bid during an auction, they could snipe.
Not every buyer is a scammer.

Messages like that make me want to buy from someone else. I get your point, but it makes me feel as if you are sour and angry ... I don't want to buy from sour, angry sellers.
It's a HUGE red flag to buyers~if the seller is like this BEFORE the transaction, what will he be like AFTER the transaction? Possibly abusive, possibly thinks there is no such thing as a legitimate SNAD, possibly a problem waiting to happen. And they hit the back button as fast as they can~and these are the GOOD buyers! Bad ones may just be happy to take the seller on.

I'm so sorry you have been scammed.

Considering your listings suggest a more mature audience - not a bunch of Hip-Hop "bleep", I suggest you not include include your thoughts on scammers.
The comment is not dignified and I think your clients are more sophisticated and that comment doesn't look professional.

Shouldnt we make the scammers feel welcome also. Best regards
