Do eBay's "Weekly Chats" Originate from China?!?

This is how the first sentence in eBay's Community Board announcement was written this week:

"Hi everyone! We won't have holding our weekly community chat this week. "

Has eBay finally been entirely taken over by China now?!?

That sure explains a lot. . ..

The announcement is posted by a moderator, who is an employee of the Khoros company that runs the Community boards, whereas the weekly chats are run by eBay employees who mostly (or all) work out of the main office in San Jose.

I suspect that the error in the announcement was a case of careless editing, an attempt to go from "we won't be holding" to "we won't have" or vice-versa. Mods aren't expected to do a lot of original writing, so probably that's not an important consideration in hiring them.

I thought they were already taken over long time ago?  😉

We all make typos or errors in grammar from time to time--I know I do, and, from a perfunctory review of your posts, you do, too. It's all too easy to do when revising/editing previously established text, as suggested by an earlier poster.

Interesting one would feel compelled to call someone out on it in order to shame them for it.

Is "e-baby" a commonly used phrase among a particular segment of the population? 😂

No, but the fact that some eBay users seem to want to blame "China" for everything sure explains a lot.
