I see there's 5000 junk drawer lots on eBay. I do a sold search and there's like 10000 sold. I do only completed listings and litterly I can't find one red. So in your opinion do they sell well? Do people really buy junk on eBay. Is it because if the mystery? The gamble? The thrill? Thanks.

I can't speak for the number of junk drawer lots you see. "Mystery" lots aren't allowed to be sold on eBay unless they show everything the buyer will receive.
I wouldn't go anywhere near them as a buyer or seller. SNAD in the making.

You'd be surprised at some of the good stuff in those junk drawer lots. I've bought a few, with no expectations outside of exactly what I saw in the photos. On more than one occasion I've been very, very, VERY pleasantly surprised.
And yes, there are plenty of them that are truly junk. I avoid those lol

Wow, learn something new every day! Just searched 'junk drawer lot' and looked at solds. I can say for certain that those lots look NOTHING like my junk drawers at home.
In mine I have shoe laces, command hooks, a hammer, thread, twist ties, nails, screws, duct tape, etc. Nothing that any sane person would pay more than $2 for!! I should obvioulsy revamp my junk drawer...

I'd kill for a junk drawer. I have 26 cabinets in my kitchen and two drawers I have junk boxes in my cabinets. Need an extra spatula? Hold on a minute, let me get the box out of the cabinet and dig through it...

I don't think junk drawer lots are necessarily mystery lots or literal junk. The ones I've seen are collections of items that are related but didn't originally go together, like a bunch of jewelry parts or a random group of old coins. I occasionally de-stash my craft supplies by selling junk drawer lots. But I always show photos of exactly what's included and list the specific items in the description.

Grab bags are allowed under certain conditions. Junk drawers are essentially the same thing. Here’s the policy:
https://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-bonus-prize-giveaway-raffle.html
“...Grab bags can be listed as long as you follow these rules:
Identify all contents; the number, quality, or condition of each item doesn't need to be identified
Don't single out anything that "may" be included with significant monetary or collectible value

@greatdealsinc7 There is currently 11,879 sold "junk drawer lots" while there is 17,077 on the completed list. Doing the math that leaves 5,198 unsold.
Hope this helps!

This is a serious question
If mystery boxes are not allowed why does ebay have a guide to them?
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Beginners-guide-to-mystery-boxes-on-eBay-/10000000001912071/g.html
I read this somewhere "Jessica bids on specific mystery boxes that are labelled “for girls” or “for YouTubers” to ensure the items are more relevant to her. eBay’s own rules state that mystery boxes must contain some hint to the contents of the box in the listing, although many do not. "
I am not sure they are entirely banned as long as its not a contest
That guide was written in 2006, not sure when the policy changed, but I'm sure it was after that.

I've sold every junk drawer lot I've listed in 4 hours or less.
I use to go to a lot of auctions and buy box lots which are great for putting together these junk drawer lots.
One persons junk is another persons treasure!!
