We use the last 4-digits of the item number of each listing to organize our inventory. But, lately the final item # when the listing sells doesn't match the original Item # when we post the item. This makes it especially difficult to match orders to inventory and ship promptly.
With all the behind the scenes fixes, patches, code releases, recoveries, this would be an easy thing for IT to manipulate. Just looking for some confirmation it is happening and why. We may have to abandon this means of archiving our inventory if this is a rampant occurrence.
