I sold a CD. Buyer claims front jewel case arrived cracked. Photos show front jewel case was cracked. Item was listed in acceptable condition.
What do I think the buyer did? Buyer probably copied the CD to his computer, and wants to ship it back to me on my dime.
Do I have to take it back?

I hope this isn’t your $2.05 CD….

I had a friend in the early days make a living selling DVDs and CDs on EBay. VCR tapes too.

whattheneck,
Take it from me, absolutely nothing is safe to sell on eBay. I've been scammed numerous times and eBay told me to fk off every time, even blatant scams.
There is only one thing to learn as an eBay seller: You can make more money as a buyer, by scamming sellers instead of trying to be a legitimate seller. Best part about being a scamming buyer is that eBay will have your back through and through. Ask any seller here and they will agree with me.

I shipped in the same bubble mailer I always do. It was photographed with a crack in the case. He purchased it from that photograph. Listed in acceptable condition.
Oh trust me, I want my buyers to have a positive experience - always. It's not just paramount for me, but essential.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel that it may be impossible to do this for a living, which is unfortunate. I sold something this morning and felt scared to ship for no reason other than I want to avoid a fraudulent buyer or bad transaction.
Lately, and it's not this platform, it's bad people - they make me scared to do my job. There's only so much risk I can tolerate before I have to say "no more," and close up shop.

I'd ask the buyer to send a picture to show what he's talking about. If it is in the same shape you show it to be in the pictures then I would take the case up with Ebay. Have them look at the listing and the pictures the buyer sent. I've done this a few time when people try and scam on products. The 2-3 times it did happen I did end up winning the case. apparently that's not common according to the stories I see here but it's worth a try.
