I sold a set of 3rd row seats to a buyer. He received them and sent me pictures of the seats i sent claiming that they are not 3rd row seats because they wont fit in his suburban. Turns out he doesnt have the brackets on the floor for them to latch onto. I told him i have no way of knowing if his vehicle has the brackets or not. Thats his job. I told him he could return them but he would have ro pay return shipping since it is his mistake. Instead he filed an INAD dispute saying i sent him 2nd row seats instead of 3rd. Even though he sent photos showing he received the correct 3rd row seats. Am i still screwed just because he said item not as described?

Unfortunately yes, sorry to say.
I never tell buyer he/she would have to pay return shipping. Gives them time to come up with a story stating they received the wrong item or product was defective.
Buyers rule on eBay, so whatever they said is gospel!
Just tell them to return for a refund. Let them figure that our after they open the return.

The seats are big and heavy. No chance this guy will pack them properly. Probably just shove them in the same box and slap a piece of tape on. So gonna cost me $100 return shipping just to get damaged seats. If he returns them at all. Had people return empty boxes before and ebay still sides with them

That's when you use the appeals process, file a police report, mail fraud report etc etc.

I had a few strange items sent back to me...not stamps which I sell.
One was a dark plastic bag with something gooey in it...Mailman did not want to deliver it so I walked into post office and looked at it and refused to accept it....I lost of course.
Another was a girlie post card...not my stamps.
They have tracking so of course I would lose a dispute.
Correct...buyers do not know how to reship items.
Have to think cost of item and shipping and damaged item wanting to it being returned or not.
Buyer might...and I say might...hoping you don't want the return....since he sees"no returns" and still gets a refund. Sometimes its best to check a buyer's feedback before making a decision as well.

How does checking a buyer’s feedback help when buyers can only get positive feedback?
