Discrepancies in FVF's?

I have a $28/mo store, and I'm a 'Top Rated Seller'. I sell coins. All of these are in the same 'Coins & Paper Money' category. All sold within the US.

Sold price - fvf fee - percentage

$19.99 - $1.65 - 8.268%

24.99 - $2.05 - 8.203%

$129.99 - $10.91 - 8.393%

$39.99 - $3.24 - 8.102%

$599.99 - $45.90 - 7.650%

$74.99 - $6.20 - 8.268%

I don't understand why it's inconsistent. According to ebay, I should be charged 8.5% on coins. I assume my top rated seller discount has applied already, and if I lose that rating these numbers will change, but why do they vary here?

@coinsnioc

This is due to the fact that eBay charges 8.5% on the sale price of the item, shipping, and sales tax collected from the buyer.

Aren’t the differences due to sales tax?  Your FVF’s are on the total - your effective percentage should be fairly consistent for a certain state, not across them.  They won’t match perfectly - you have the $0.30 fixed fee on each order.

I think you'll find the differences in the shipping costs. All carriers have extended their deliverable districts and numbers and the price of shipping in some of these areas is wildly different (even in the same state and sometimes the same city) enough to throw off anything that used to be consistent.

Since you offer free shipping, the discrepancy is caused by the variation in sales tax based on which state the item is being shipped to.

Go to you Transaction Details page, scroll to bottom and it will give you a break down of how the all fees were calculated.
