DENIED FOR EBAY FEE DEFERRAL PROGRAM.

Today I decide to check on my status to see if I had been accepted into the payment deferral program. To my dismay, I was rejected. I questioned support that sent me this response:

Hello Joe,

Thank you for contacting eBay regarding your payment for your eBay Fees. We know that many of you are facing uncertainty given how much is changing due to COVID-19.  We’re happy to provide additional information on deferred payments.

Upon reviewing your account, I noticed that you are not subscribed to an eBay Store for at least 30 days. Currently, deferred payments are only being offered to sellers who have been subscribed to an eBay Store for more than 30 days. As store subscribers generally have higher inventory, the decision was made, at this time, to defer payments for store subscribers to better help manage their business. That said, we are always evaluating opportunities to help sellers and have heard their feedback for future consideration.

While the current promotion being offered is only applicable to sellers who have had a store subscription for at least 30 days, you can consider subscribing to any store level (starting as low as $4.95/month) for potential future protections.

I am glad I was able to assist you with your question today. We hope you and your loved ones stay safe during this time. Thank you for choosing eBay. We value your business!

Well, Ive had a PREMIUM STORE for 8 years now!!! Here is a copy and paste from my subscriptions page:

Active Subscriptions
Premium Store - Billed at monthly rate
$74.95 / month
Subscription includes free access to
0
  • Start date:Mar 1, 2020

  • Renewal date:Apr 1, 2020

These are billed monthly so of course, its going to list the start dates like this but I can show 8 years of ebay invoices that shows this same amount billed to me each month. Im assuming this is a glitch and I cant be the only one snagged up in it. Who do I contact about straightening this out?

Thanks

Joe

DENIED FOR EBAY FEE DEFERRAL PROGRAM.

Thats good advice. Thank you. Ill try to re-send it but Im guessing its not gonna happen for me.

As to my monthly subscription, Its been so long that I never even thought to change it to yearly.

My seller level has been above standard or even top rated every month for the last 8 years (Mostly just above standard). My service metrics flip back and forth from high to average due to the used auto parts I sell. I get lumped in with people selling new parts in ebays eyes, so those are the "peers"  Im compared to.  Maybe thats what did it. I was under the impression that they wern't going to hold our service metrics against us during this pandemic.

All it says under qualifications for it is:

Who is eligible?

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Have been subscribed to an eBay store for more than 30 days
  • Your account is in good standing with eBay

When my account says "Above Standard" and has never ever gone below standard, I thought that was good. I didnt think that the service metrics could affect your "standing"

Thanks again everyone for your input,

Joe

Is there a particular department I can contact or can you please DM me so I can see what "security concerns" might be going on with my account? Id like to get "it" resolved, whatever "it" is.  Just trying to be proactive in case theres an issue Im unaware of. If I was denied over my service metrics, I can accept that, but if its something else that I can fix, Id love the opportunity to identify and fix it.

Thanks

Joe

though I can't go into further detail here on the boards regarding your application, I can confirm that the correct action was taken. I can also clarify that your store subscription was not a factor in our decision. While we are not always able to elaborate on the reason for ineligibility, such as when it is related to site security concerns, you can continue to discuss this with Customer Service if you would like.

@Anonymous

Can you address why the message explaining his denial contained such obviously incorrect information?

IMHO it undermines the trust of the community when eBay's communication suggests that it cannot even get the basic facts about a seller's account straight.

Look at the language of the plan. If you are approved for deferral prior to March 31st,(keep in mind the offer was only sent on March 25th), you'll be eligible for 50% deferment on your March 31st invoice. I was approved on March 29th and 100% of the funds were taken on March 31st.

*If you are approved by March 31, 2020 and have an invoice dated March 31, 2020, 50% of the Covered Fees will be deferred until the April 30, 2020 invoice, and the remainder will be deferred until May 31, 2020 invoice.
*If you are approved between March 31st and April 10th, and have an invoice dated March 31, 2020, expect to pay your monthly March invoice in full as usual. 50% of your Covered Fees on your April 30, 2020 invoice will be deferred until the May 31, 2020 invoice and 50% deferred until your June 30th invoice.
*If you are approved by April 10, 2020 and have an invoice dated April 15, 2020, 50% of the Covered Fees will be deferred until the May 15, 2020 invoice, and the remainder will be deferred until the June 15, 2020 invoice.

Funds for a March 31 invoice are not generally taken on March 31

March 15th invoice funds are taken on March 31.

Some sellers are mid-month invoiced.   Some are end of month invoiced.

Hi @florida_parts, any follow up or appeal options would be outlined in the email you received. I don't have any alternatives to provide, so can only recommend you reply to the email you received with any additional questions you have.

BTW, your supposed to give your specific location in your listings. It's not supposed to simply say United States. You'll get better search placement and potentially better sales when you use your location. Plus it's ebay policy.

This has nailed so many people... they can't seem to understand this...

I hate photobucket right now... PS Answers given years ago may or may not be current now, please check with current posters to the boards to see if the information is still relevant.

The whole situation sounds so eBay; I hope you were able to reply and appeal. I just wanted to comment that my friend who's had an eBay store for a long time always has lower inventory than me most months, and I don't have a store. Didn't realize I wasn't eligible for this program, but I didn't apply anyway since it didn't seem all that beneficial for someone like me.
