DEAD BEAT buyers!

We sellers have known for years ( I am a 25+ year seller on E Bay) how bad E Bays feedback system is! A buyer can do what ever they want like not pay for auctions and E Bay has no issue with that happening! (drop down box for cancel order no longer states buyer did not pay) I have had so many DEAD BEAT buyers in the last few months! I look at the buyers feedback's and they look perfect of course 100% unless a seller has taken the time to tell the truth on what really happen a non pay in feedback's and that seems to not happen either!!! so no heads up on a DEAD BEAT buyer for us sellers! then I look at feedback's left for others by some of these DEAD BEAT buyers and this last one left many many Neg. feedback's for many sellers!!!! this is making E Bay no longer an honest/safe place to do business

DEAD BEAT buyers!

If you're not seeing the "buyer did not pay" reason, you're probably cancelling too early.

That option does not show until after 4 days.

The buyer has 4 days to pay.

Cancel on the 5th day. Reason: Buyer did not pay.

This will give the buyer a strike.

After 2 of these strikes sellers can block this buyer.

You could do fixed price (buy it now) with immediate payment required and not have to worry about buyers not paying.

In the mean time if your buyer doesn't pay for an auction you cancel after 4 days using the reason "buyer didn't pay" and the buyer gets a non-payment strike. (Don't send invoices - that will give them 4 more days to pay the invoice.)

Hi @supersport69

I took a look at your Sold items. In 10 out of 10 sales the auction was won by a single bid. That is a good indicator that you could switch your listings to the fixed-price format and use Immediate Payment Required. This puts an end to deadbeat buyers. (Keep in mind that Best Offer voids an IPR setting.)

It could also improve your sales. There are shoppers who don’t like waiting for auctions, period. And there are shoppers who make a bid, but eBay shows them competitor’s listings on your listing page. If they see a fixed price listing for the same price as an opening bid, your auction loses out.

Buyers are supposed to honor their bids according to eBay policy, but in practical application, buyers are rarely sanctioned for breaking this rule.
