Anybody have problems with charge backs after the Ebay and Paypal dispute period is over? Like 9 months?

I've had a handful, but not that far out. All were within three or four weeks of the purchase. What is the reason for the chargeback - unauthorized use or something else? Not that it matters, because the credit card company is in charge and what they say goes. Nobody can fight the almighty credit card companies.

Sorry about the duplication. The site is pausing and not showing posting.

It was "not as described". I filed an SR report with E bay weeks after I suspected a scam. Buyer altered the item and admitted it on my messages. Waited until E bay/pay pal dispute platforms were out of time and then filed charge back. I have received conflicting answers from PayPal on what they will or will not due..

PayPal does not offer any seller protction for not as described chargebacks. You can try to give your info showing the buyer altered the item but I consider it a good chance you don't win

I see on the internet this is becoming common with paypal.

PayPal even refused to give me what credit card company was involved. It is like I have no say in anything.

From experience - refund the buyer before Paypal does and you also are gifted with a $20 fee from Paypal for the chargeback. I didn't even get the item back. Thank goodness - knock on wood - that is the only time I've had to deal with that in 20 yrs.

Sorry, but you don't have anything to say - PayPal is the merchant of record.

I have never had a chargeback and only once that I'm aware of did an eBay buyer pay with her credit card. The only reason I know she did is because she sent me an email and apologized for paying that way. She was a long-time repeat buyer so I wasn't concerned. If all of a sudden I started getting chargebacks from buyers who paid me via PayPal and used a credit card ... I would be very unhappy.
Especially if after the chargeback PayPal would then fine me $20.00 ... I would never again take their surveys (and I have taken many over the years) and say how great I think PayPal is and how much I trust them with my $.

Thanks...I will....Can't wait until the new processing agent is available.
Ummmmm, you might not be overly happy with Managed Payments by ebay in this type of situation, though. It is merely ebay replacing PayPal as merchant of record, and Adyen just doing the processing. ebay will then be able to charge the $20.00 fee, if they want to.

PP buyer protection is 6 months or 180 days. I doubt your buyer will get a refund after 9 months. I’d fight it and risk the $20 fee
That’s 180 for a buyer to file with PayPal. A buyer filing a credit card chargeback has nothing to do with that and is the credit card companies decision not on whether a refund is issued or not PayPal’s decision
