I do not hardly ever vent about issue but here goes.
- Buyer from 2016 who has made about 3 or 4 purchases from me. All of them had some kind of issue ( did not get what I ordered, INR, etc, so I blocked them on eBay.
- Buyer then finds my website and starts buying there. The first order again has issues same kind of fraud attempt, I did not get the items (tracking says yes you did). I get at least another dozen orders on my web-site over about 6 weeks from this buyer, I refund all of them and tell the buyer to please quit buying as I do not take any more order from you
- I even give him info where to buy the exact same item from different sellers (so kind of me right):wink:
- I eventually send him a cease and desist letter and stopped getting orders but still getting emails asking to unblock him or let him order from me. I just ignored all of those.
Okay now for the fun stuff. This buyer uses a business server email ( A law office at that ) to send all communications and paypal payments. Has two seperate mailing addresses about 6 hours apart.
Now after about 12 months of no contact with this buyer I get another order from a new account just opened today. Not even hard to connect the blocked account and the new one. Basically the same user name with a couple differences. I knew right away before I even looked at the order details.
I call ebay safety and trust, and they open an investigation. Should be open and closed without any real investigation since the
- buyers real name
- mailing address and
- paypal addresses are all the same
- the user names clearly reads out the buyers real name with a few spaces and numbers between the letters.
So I ask if I can cancel without any harm to my account? Safety and trust does not know how that works (understandable) since they do not work in that area so they transfer me to the right people who tried very hard to find a way for me to do this the right way. They had all the notes and agreed for the most part that there was a connection between the new user name and the blocked user name but of course they can not say to much because of security issues. Okay but can I cancel the transaction without 4 separate out of stock defects? Basically no I can not until the users names are suspended which will take care of all the other things. More than less telling me we can see the connection but you have to wait until it is official.
I tell them I have to make a decision right now because eBay has very strict seller standards and I do not want 4 out of stock defects or late deliveries based on my handling time. They really did try to find a loophole to justify an eBay legal cancallation. Finally after 2 supervisors ( the first one lied two times and admitted she was giving the wrong info, so I told her I did not have confidence in her moving forward) the second supervisor said to go ahead and use the reason as a problem with the address and she would input all the notes and it should not be a problem.
BTW - The new user name had a phone number that I tried to call to talk to the buyer who I have had several phone and email communications with in the past, and it was a fake phone number to a mexican restuarant that does not know who I am asking for and wants to know is as best English as they could muster "now what is it you want to order?"
So what did I do next? I checked my email account and searched for the buyers email and found more than a dozen messages, with all kinds of things from paypal payment notifications to threats to admission of fault and apologies from him blaming his wife for not telling him items did arrive, just a bunch of boloney excuses.
So I decide since he will soon be suspended from eBay things will probably heat up with this buyer because they will know I did it, so I decide to call the law office where he works and speak to human resources and tell them all the details including the threats coming from his email using your business server assigned address. I tell her I want you to contact this employee and make them quit with the stalking that I can clearly present with communication evidence. She says she will make sure he does not use the company server for personal use moving forward, and wants me to send her all my finding. I tell her that I expect a return call from her within 10 days explaing how she handled the situation from her end, and if I did not get the call back I will make sure she gets all the communications via a lawyer.
