Got a notice today that they are withdrawing my recent posting for Corning coffee pot. Said violated the policies due to the item haven’t been recalled.

The problem is that there are multiple listings for the identical product. What gives and how does one work around this?

1.   You don't work around it.  If eBay pulled the item, you would be foolish to relist it again as it could have an impact on your account.

2.  They pulled yours but have not gotten to the others.  It is sort of like speeding, not everyone gets caught.  I know it is frustrating but it is the way eBay is.

3.  That coffee pot was recalled as dangerous.  You won't be able to sell it on eBay.

One specific design got recalled because the handle would break off.  But eBay sometimes gets confused and cancels listings for Corningware coffee pots that were NOT part of the recall.  Nevertheless, even if eBay is wrong in this case, you should follow the advice in the other post, and do not consider relisting it.

If it was recalled, there's no work around.

You can't sell items that have been recalled.

Have a great day.

You don't.  If eBay removed your listing, my suggestion is to NOT relist it again as relisting can jeopardize your seller account.  Just because others are doing it, doesn't mean it's right.  They  just haven't been caught.......yet!  Do the right thing and don't relist.

Happy Selling!

Artificial Idiocy wouldn't even let me post a Corningware creamer that was not recalled.

I got an error with a link to the recalled items page whenever I tried to list it. I searched every link on that page, and it was not there, but the coffee pot was.

I think Artificial Idiocy thought it was the recalled coffee pot because both have a handle and both have the same pattern on the outside. I guess it can't read

That's when I learned that chat agents just lie.

And yes, there were tons of others listed - still are. Not sure why the all seeing Artificial Idiocy can only see some and not all, and why it can't tell the difference between the two, but it can't.

Throw it in the garbage and be thankful nobody got burned using it.

I read that the coffee pot with a metal spout was recalled.

Someone else mentioned that they were recalled because the handle would break off.

I know it has been a problem item for years.  It could cause you issues if you try to relist.

You don't work around it.

Just because they haven't been caught yet does not absolve you from having to follow the rules.

Here is a very good article, tells you which ones are recalled.

I've had ebay pull one of mine that was not recalled. Didn't argue about it just sold it elsewhere.

Why was yours taken down and there are multiple listings for the same product?

For the same reason I got pulled over and cited for speeding when there were hundreds of other cars speeding.

I just happened to get caught, the others didn't.

They probably will ... eventually.

Don't overlook the possibility that the error is eBay's, and the item that the OP listed was NOT part of the recall.  In other words, the cop's radar was defective and gave a false positive reading.

Yes to all of the above.  I had an ad for one of these taken down 12 years ago, so it’s not AI.  Some models had an issue with the handle separating.  As others have said, eBay will not allow any of the Corningware Cornflower Blue pots to be listed.  Doesn’t matter which model. Possibly others as well, but I’m only aware of the Cornflower ones. I had 3 of the electric ones sitting in my inventory for years.  Sold them last summer at a yard sale.  They were NOT the recalled model.

Exactly. Wouldn't be the first time.
