Copying a previous sales markdown event... will system remove sold items?

I usually just go through all my currently listed items when creating a sales markdown, but this time I decided to try the copy option. After finishing it, it occurred to me that there might be a possibility that it copied all the same listings from the previous sale and could have left in items that have already sold. Is this the case, or does the system automatically take out items that have sold since the last markdown and they do not even appear as options to choose, therefore not "relisting" old items that I do not have anymore?

No it is just  copying the sale rules.  I use it all the time.

Ok so are you saying I am not in danger of including all the previous items that were in the sale and stuff that has sold would not even appear in the list of items for me to choose from?

If you copy a sale it will warn you in red that some listings are now missing.

 ok yes I saw that message earlier, just wanted to ask and make sure from other peoples experiences
