Communicating via text

Hi, I'm a new seller and have a question. I've had about 2 people who's offer I accepted and they proceeded to try and communicate through text. Someone else just offered the asking price, and they wanted to communicate through text message, albeit only to confirm my PayPal. Here's the message -

Kindly accept my offer only if you accept PayPal and kindly text me your PayPal email address to (phone number) to proceed with the payment ASAP!

This person's account has over 1200 positive ratings and the account is 2 decades old. Is it safe to just give them my PayPal through text and accept the offer? I'll send an invoice to them, but I'm not sure if that can make it 100% safe.

@danhol-7555

It is a scam.  They are trying to rip you off.

Not only is it a scam but it sounds like they are using a hijacked account.  Cancel the sales using reason problem with buyers address and then relist them.   Anyone communicating thru text is a scammer.

Just to add one thing to @alcoforever's suggestion that the scammer is using a hijacked account, check the feedback page to see when the last feedback received or left for others was entered. Often scammers choose older, established accounts with high feedback numbers--but they haven't been used for months or even years. The scammers figure the real owner of the account probably doesn't use eBay on an active basis anymore and will never know the account has been used for nefarious purposes.
