@ssin3741

Where did you see this bus advertised? Was it on ebay or was it found on Facebook or Craigs? This smells of a scam big-time.

You should dispute the $1000 charge for the deposit with your credit card company.

On eBay, in the motor vehicles category, you are often asked for a deposit.

You need to read the listing carefully to see if it states the deposit is "non-refundable".

If that's what it says, you've been warned that you will be forfeiting any deposit.

ETA:  When I checked the eBay listing, there was no mention of a deposit there, so perhaps yo agreed to that in your further communication with the seller.

Suggestion:  In the future, when shopping for a vehicle, if there is mention of a deposit, or even if there isn't, you probably should just assume that any deposit will be non-refundable.

Deposits are rarely refundable.  You tied up that seller's vehicle for however long and cost them some money.

That it has new issues is irrelevant.  Used vehicles are sold as-is and you should inspect them before making any kind of payment.
