Hello, I just recently started selling on eBay. I have 101 views but 13 sales. Can give advice on closing or attracting more clients?

Not to sound like a smart alec, find out what people want and sell those items. I am having the worst time selling stuff since I started in 4/2022.

Good luck in the future.

There are dozens of Ryder Cup '99 DVDs for sale on eBay, but only one has sold in the past 90 days.

Back issues of Drum magazine from 2017-2018 only seem to be selling for about 1/3 of what you are asking.

It could simply be that there is not much demand for your items at those prices.

On your shirts, add measurements in your descriptions.

Have a great day.

luckythewinner is correct. Do some comp sales comparisons to see what is selling and at what price. If you get more competitive on pricing while adding more listings, you are setting yourself up for some sales. Nothing is guaranteed so keep your expectations reasonable.

First, 13 sales in 101 views is a monster sales conversion rate (12.9%).  I think the average eBay sales conversion rate is between 2-3%.

Looking through your listings, you are doing a lot of things right.  Lots of photos, lots of description information in the item specifics section (the eBay search engine uses title and item specifics to generate results, but not the item description).  Good job for someone who is new to this!

But, here are my two pieces of wisdom that I can offer, and both have to do with expectations of selling on eBay:

  1. When you list items, each one will be on a spectrum between (a) in-demand items and (b) nobody wants items.  The (a) items fly off the eBay shelf and it can feel like you are on a roll, then it can feel like everything stops because your eBay merch is full of (b) stuff.  And the more you list, the more (b) stuff will accumulate and become a larger portion of your inventory.  It isn't that sales are slowing, but that you need to have a strategy for liquidating the (b) items ... such as fire sale, auction, create sales lots, donate, trash, etc.
  2. I noticed that you sold a couple of items "as is" ... which, usually implies that you take no responsibility for whether or not it works.  Yet, you listed both of these items with a condition of "used", and if you read the description of "used" you will see that this guarantees the item works.   So, if the buyer discovers it doesn't work, they will likely open a "Money Back Guarantee" claim and indicate that the item was "not as described" (SNAD or NAD).  You will be responsible for refunding the purchase price and any shipping paid, and if you want the item back then you will be responsible for paying for return shipping as well.

101 views on over 200 listings suggests that either there are too many similar items to your offers or no one cares about what you are offering.

Nothing about what you have listed strikes me as high interest. What you have sold certainly is more likely to have drawn people willing to buy.

There are probably about 1.5 Billion listings on eBay.   That's a lot of competition.

Many of your items are clothing items which is probably the most oversaturated category on eBay, not to mention other online selling sites.   If you put "silk ties" into eBay's  search box, it brings up more than 570,000 listings.  That is too many to browse through so unless a buyer is looking for a specific brand, most listings will not get looked at.   Listing unbranded items like your handbags or wallet make them almost impossible to find.   Listing things with brand names will have a little better chance of buyers finding them.
