Did you open an unpaid item case? Has it been 4 full days since you opened it, i.e., at least 96 hours?

It is EXACTLY 96 hrs after you first opened it. So if it has been four days, but not four days to the second, then you won't be able to close it. Just hang on for a bit longer, and you will be fine. I know waiting can be hard, though.

They say 4 days, but it's actually 97 hours before you get the close button. For some reason there's an extra hour in there.... not sure why.

Friend of mine is waiting 3 weeks already. He has same problem!

Yes I did. 96 h gone!

FYI, once you've opened the unpaid item dispute, you cannot cancel the order.

Yes i know. In status it says " You can close this case now" but i dont have an option.
I think this is kind of bug with system!

Have you done the obvious, reboot, try a different browser? If that doesn't work you'll have to call CS again (and again and again) until you find someone that can help.

Then why the topic title: " Close the case or Cancel the order"?
03-08-2018 09:24 AM
Why? Because when i called in ebay they said that i can cancel order even if case is still open! I understand that its not reall but dont understand why they hire employes from the street!

Yep my friend is calling and calling 3 weeks already 😄

Haha that was funny! Your comment about Hiring from the street I mean. It does seem like they hire anybody off the street. You must have gotten one of the overseas call centers, they don’t have very good training over there and tell you anything to get you off the phone! If you use Facebook, you can send a message to eBay on their page and they can assist you with this. Good luck!

HI @marinemotors, if you go to the Resolution Center and select the dropdown menu to the right of the Unpaid Item case labeled "Take action", you can select "Receive fee credit" to move forward. The purpose of an Unpaid Item Case is to receive a fee credit for the transaction, so this is the option to close the case. Once you elect to receive your fee credit, the next page will ask if you have received payment. Selecting "No" will close the case and credit your fees.
