Has anyone seen this new layout for listings? I have a button on my last listing called 'click button to view entire description'.
There is a completely blank screen unless one clicks that button. There is NO description of the item for sale until you click this button and then the description opens in a separate window.
What is this all about - an I in a test group?

cad777864, will you (or anyone) check my listings to see if they are affected? I would love you forever
It appears that is NOT a specific SELLER's listings that are affected. It is the person doing the SEARCH for such listings that will see the abbreviated format with no description on the first page. .....
My performed searches are not affected by this, so if I look at your listings all will appear fine and dandy FOR ME.
Another user "opted in" might look at your same seller listings and be allowed to see only the new format.
Any tech people out there that can advise how ebay is accomplishing this? What are they dumping on our computers? Can we manually get rid of it?
Jeff said some of his browsers are affected and others are not. Some report all their browsers are affected on the same physical machine, where if they use a different computer on the same router/wifi the results are different again.

Actually, no.
In a sense, I don't really care what my listings look like because I have no control over the way eBay opts to display their pages. I've given mobile devices a bit of thought but I haven't spend an extraordinary (or even a little) amount of time trying to optimize for tiny screens.
The only things I let affect me concern the bottom line I'll see a little less than 11 months from now.
When my sales tank, I'll join the sky is falling group.
Ok. Well, I guess this is one attitude we could all take. But we have 27 pages of thread here because for some reason most of us are just a little tiny bit concerned. And, by the way, this is "my" page ebay is opting to display and not "their," and I do care what "my" listing looks like, but, hey, good luck with that!

This new layout is absolutely atrocious! I'm a full-time seller on this site, so I know how to navigate. It still took clicking on several different listings to notice that there was a separate button to click for the description. At first, I thought "What's with all these bad sellers not even bothering to add a real description?" That's because I'm used to the old layout. I imagine most buyers are too, and this will inevitably lead to them buying items without viewing the description and being dissatified. Mobile users are used to dealing with more condensed, and for lack of a better word, "different" layouts of the sites they view on their PC. But buyers using a PC will be confused by this, I guarantee it. On top of that, the description that you get to view is now smashed into less than half the open space. I have adblock so I'm not sure if that extra space is filled with ads. It seems that the punches to the gut that eBay doles out to sellers have became much more frequent rencently, and each one makes me take extra steps to prepare to leave once and for all. This time it's equally bad for the buyers as well. Please eBay, FIX THIS MESS!

Also, when previewing a listing to sell an item, the preview page shows the full description that you would normally see. I scheduled a list of items for a couple of weeks from now and when I click on any of my sheduled items, it is showing the "See Full Item Description" statement.
When I first saw this I thought I done something wrong during the listing process and spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out what I had done wrong. I finally realized I had to click the "SFID" statement.
If they don't change it back, I'll be removing my scheduled items.

This is a really bad idea. Can't beleive someone thought this was going to be good. I can't even stand to use the mobile app. I have to click through to use the classic, otherwise it's pretty unusable.

I asked why an announcement was not made concerning this testing but was told it would mess with the results - meanwhile buyers are backing out of listings thinking the seller is too lazy to write a description.
If people knew it was a prank, the prank wouldn't be as effective. What's a few bucks among friends, really?

Apparently they didn't want to know what I think. This is beyond stupid.
Give it a few more seconds to load. It took about 10 seconds for the page to load for me, but it should load.
10 seconds for a simple page like that to load? Why? Did they put that page on a Commodore 64 or a TI 99
