Has anyone seen this new layout for listings? I have a button on my last listing called 'click button to view entire description'.
There is a completely blank screen unless one clicks that button. There is NO description of the item for sale until you click this button and then the description opens in a separate window.
What is this all about - an I in a test group?

What are we conditioned to believe the color red means?
Doesn't red mean STOP?!
Right so why splatter red ink all over the dang page that's supposed to SELL an article?!
Well, we do also associate 'red' with 'bull. ....

eBay is testing so many people so not all are seeing it. YET! I sent message on facebook to eBay and here is what they posted back.
eBay This is a feature that we are currently testing. We want to improve and simplify the overall buying experience, and our goal is to have a consistent experience across all devices and screens. This is how buyers are currently viewing item descriptions on mobile devices today. I'll be happy to pass along your feedback on this process. ~Brady
So we are Guinea Pigs for eBay and we wern't asked. Be sure to click the tab next to that that says" Tell us what you think" and tell them to get rid of it. I have already had 2 buyers email me who are new to eBay and ask me about my items for sale because they didn't see the description. eBay is just being lazy and wanting to save money by using same format for all devices. I will not sell anymore until they stop it.Anyone remember the media category fiasco about 3 years back?
As I recall, there were at least 13 countries where buyers were blocked from purchasing books, records, etc. from US sellers for about six months. There was endless speculation about some nefarious eBay plot such as an attempt to force all US sellers to offer the Global Shipping Program (which didn't ever override the block) & only vague comments about customs requirements from "unofficial sources", never an eBay posting.
One day the block was removed, still no explanation, and I predict, this too shall pass. I have empathy for those affected & fortunately my sky isn't falling (at least not yet

Yea, well you are being affected, in your in it as well, you may not see it from your account, but buyers are seeing it in yours, this is a pic of your most newly listed item. All your listings are affected as of today.

Ok, not sure I understand you but bottom line is red = not good, correct?
At least that's the way I see it.

No wonder Ebay had to protect me 4 times from buyers opening INR cases too early.

I was just doing some editing in my auctions and saw the CLICK TO SEE b.s.
Then I suddenly saw my old descriptions back as they had been.
I clicked on the auctions I had just seen NO DESCRIPTION unless clickked and the
descriptions were back to normal.
Did ebay see the light and change it back to normal?
OR did the bid box stores complain and ebay had to change it back?
(Ikea's listings had the same "click to see description")

Actually, no.
In a sense, I don't really care what my listings look like because I have no control over the way eBay opts to display their pages. I've given mobile devices a bit of thought but I haven't spend an extraordinary (or even a little) amount of time trying to optimize for tiny screens.
The only things I let affect me concern the bottom line I'll see a little less than 11 months from now.
When my sales tank, I'll join the sky is falling group.

Huh? I'm seeing the Most Kudo'd Posts section here just fine. (Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 7 box.)
Its #1 topic at the present time, ironically, is "Done with Ebay!"

@ittybitnot wrote:Someone who is "opted in" (sees no description), needs to peruse a listing or two of a diamond/big box seller to see if they have the clickable see item description box.
I don't buy the "opted in" buyers line we were told for one minute.
Looks to me they are picking and choosing what listings/sellers
I did check a few of the BB retaillers and NO box to "see description", listing are as they were.
My listings have the "see "full item description" box and so do other listings that I have been looking at. (opted in, lol) 😞
On my listings I have been using copy and paste to add my description into the "seller notes condition box", for a very long time.
So, at least that info is showing on the first page. Photos will not enlarge on any listing I looked at, unless I click to see full item description.
I do not like the smart phone browsing/buying, never have, this is about the worst program change I have ever seen here.

I started getting this Wednesday morning. I was not on the net the night before. It is just another miserable idea from eBay's cadres of MBA's trying to justify their employment. People put a lot of effort into doing good, honest ads, then eBay shunts them into a pop-up that the buyer has to make another click to view. When you look at an item page, you see the Item Specifics, then have to click the box to see full item description. Which then appears in a pop-up window. Your artwork,m images and description are minimized.
It is possibly a test, as some apparently are not seeing it. It is horrible. And the pop-up window doesn't display the description as well as the item page did.
I have sent my opinion by clicking the Tell UsWhat You Think box. Also called them and asked how to opt out. Brain dead CSR rep, so I got the equally brain dead supervisor on the line.
I am using a regular laptop and Firefox. I can only speculate that this is just another attempt to break any connection between the buyer and seller, while freeing up space on the item page to shove other peoples ads. If I list an item, and someone goes to view my item page, why should they also be shown a bar of similar items from orther sellers???
But then ETHICS and eBay can't be mentioned in the same sentence. I never have this kind of angst with the items I list on AMAZON!

This is a really stupid idea.
DUH....I want to see the description or I wouldn't have clicked on the listing to start with Ebay.

What is really bad for me is that most of my auctions/listings have more pictures in the actual description. I only just started using Ebay's picture service, which stinks by the way. So, what over the other 500 listings I have? They won't see pictures other than the gallery one? Not good. Not good.
