Hey,
I am wanting to change my username to something a bit more professional, but I have over 200 followers and want to make sure they can still access the shop. I've heard if they tried to use the old username they would get a 404 error page instead of being redirected to the shop; is this correct or does the find and replace always work?
Many thanks

I understand what you are saying, but no, it will not redirect them. You will just look gone. You and over 5000 feedback.
That is something eBay really should fix, we shouldn't be stuck forever with what we picked years ago.

My understanding is that changing your username will change the username everywhere on eBay, so that anyone following an eBay link -- in your current listings, in Purchase History, in feedback -- will be directed to the appropriate current account page. Users that have you as a saved seller will see the new name in the saved seller list and will be directed to your current listings.
If users have bookmarked your "items for sale" link or search for your old username, however, that would no longer work.
Changing your store name currently does not automatically change the store URL, though. At one time it was possible to change the store address itself by reverting to an older store format, changing the name, then restoring the new format, but I do not think this still works.

Would leave your user name as is.....buyers shop based on the quality of the items, not if your user name is appealing, etc.
Your user name is unique, fun and easy to remember - perfect for online selling!
