Hi,

I have been selling on eBay for few months but I have noticed a weird pattern recently. I used to sell about 3 to 5 items before 12:00 p.m. and 5 to 10 items later in the day. This happened every day and for 3 to 4 months.

However, now I don't sell anything in the mornings anymore. Not even one item. It has been like this for a while now. My overall sales have dropped as well but my main concern is why all morning sales have stopped completely.

I know this is a unique situation and maybe a weird question but has anyone else experience change in selling patterns like this? Is this normal and happens to everyone after they have been selling on eBay for a while? Is eBay slowing down my sales somehow and not showing my items in search early in the mornings?

Not sure about the pattern thing, but there is a lot more competition from Chinese sellers on eBay USA now. They sell authentic and knock-off items at a fraction of the price you can sell them for and they can ship their items to the USA for less than what it costs you to ship something to someone in the state next to yours. It's getting worse all the time and as far as I can tell eBay doesn't seem to care. Next year when eBay will make you charge sales tax to your USA customers, I bet your sales will go down even more. From what I understand the Chinese sellers won't have to charge the sales tax like you will, making your items even less attractive to buyers.

Well ain't that grand.... first they hit me with "best match" years ego when I had two power seller accounts and now that I started again, I have to deal with this.

Prepare yourself for the pattern of days on end with no sales no matter how much stuff you list on a regular basis!

Yup you are not imagining things are bad. I have sold here for over 16 years now and I have never seen so many screwed up issues as I am seeing now on ebay. And I too am having NO sales these days until after 1 pm usually. I used to always wake up at 8 am to 2 or 3 sales......Now I wake up to either nothing of another False SNAD claim..

New seller accounts receive a boost in visibility for the first few months - but are you drop shipping as despite all the competition in the ecletronics dept - drop shippers are being lowered in placements many bucularly want to buy from drop shippers.

As far as the sales tax - there still is not a definite answer as each state has their own rules on how much qualifies before tax is collected - so people have to stop with the rumors they've read elsewhere.
