I sold an item 5 months ago. The buyer has opened a case for not receiving item now. Tracking indicates the item has reached the destination country .So I explained the buyer to check with the post office and inform me since the tracking shows the said item had already reached the destination country. But the buyer wanted to have it delivered to his doorstep or a refund. Any advice please.

How can they open a case on eBay after five months? This has to be on PayPal, I presume.
The item is probably trapped somewhere in customs. Odds are they're going to get refunded and get the item too.
You may want to try reporting the item as lost, usually overseas shipments carry insurance and you can collect that way and at least not be out money.

Depending on when the estimated delivery date was, it tracking doesn't show it was delivered to the buyer, they will get a refund.
If the Ebay case fails, they have 180 days to file a claim on Pay Pal.

The case has been filed on e bay for two weeks ago. Still e bay has not intervened to the case as you very correctly mentioned that the buyer can't open the case after 5 months. This package has been shipped during the lock down period and may have trapped in customs. I would have sent a fresh package to buyer if he filed the case before 90 days. If so that I could have claimed the cost from my supplier. Any way, hope for the best and waiting for the e bay mediation. Thank you very much for the opinion shared.
