I had listed an item that was listed as “local pickup only”. The buyer paid for the item and then realized that. Then messaged me saying they thought I would ship the item and if not to cancel the order. What should I do in this situation?

Hi, yes, i would honor the buyer's request and cancel, using "buyer requested" as the reason. Is it truly something you are not interested in shipping?

Mistakes do happen and I'm assuming it was the steamer trunk which is beautiful! I can see where the buyer was so excited they found this piece that they didn't pay attention to the shipping method.
Just cancel the transaction as buyer requested.

Sorry you lost the sale; you had a too hasty buyer there.
Cancel the sale using buyer requested; you won't get a defect for that.
