Cancel an order after shipping

As far as I know, the seller cannot cancel an order after it was shipped.

If that's so, why do I still have an access to cancel the order after it was shipped?

The buyer cannot cancel after it's shipped.

Just becasue an item has been marked as shipped on ebay does not mean the seller has actually taken it to the post office yet. You still have the option to cancel the order because if you do send a request and the seller has not yet dropped the item off at the post office then they still have time to cancel it if they agree to the request.
