I had a buyer give me a WRONG address and he told me to change it.
I disagreed and went to cancel the transaction in my mobile app.
When I hit cancel, it took my to the resolution center to cancel it. I thought this was odd because that's not usually how cancellations work, at ALL.
So I log onto my desktop and try the cancellation through there...nothing. It glitches to eBay home screen. I try again, nothing! I clear all catche and history and try a 3rd time...nothing again!
I log onto a different browser. And same thing again..I could physically not cancel the order on anything except my iPhone eBay app.
After selecting reason 'buyer wants to ship to a different address and filing the case, I get a message saying they've sent a request to the buyer who can either accept or decline...THE BUYER HAS AN OPTION TO DECLINE WHEN HE GAVE ME THE WRONG ADDRESS? Anyone know what is going on here!?
im just trying to be done with the transaction already, and his address is completely invalid.
Thanks
here is a screenshot. I cut the top off because it had the users name.

Spoke to eBay CS. I guess is how the new cancellations are now.
If you have a buyer who give you an invalid address, you cannot simply cancel it. You make a 'Cancel Request', and it gives the buyer the option to Decline it!
Then, eBay will ask you to ship the item to the invalid address as per buyer request... THIS MAKES NO SENSE.
I asked the ebay CS rep "Ok, so if he declines, you want me to send to an address that technically isn't even an address?". And she said "Yes!". At this point I was very mind boggled.
I continue to rephase my questions, and was told that if the buyer declines, to go on PayPal and refund the payment. This will lead eBay's system to believe it's an unpaid item case, and will not ask you to ship. (this was all told by a rep who informed me this).
Seems EXTREMLY time consuming. The rep said many buyers were complaining of sellers cancelling because of address issues when there really wasn't an issues. I told her there needs to be a 'report seller' button for sellers who do this, and that eBay Sellers who have always been compliant with doing cancellations correctly should NOT have to go through this lengthy process. (She said she appreciates the advice and will forward it).
Not to mention this new way leaves us open to receiving negatives, which will need to be removed if a buyer does so. And the fact I may have to wait 7 days for him to respond and relist the item is also annoying.

This is getting more out of hand by the minute.
I just had an eBay CS supervisor rep call me and told me to refund the money through PayPal before he accepts or declines.
If the money is already refunded, it will not give the buyer an option to decline it, and will have to accept it.
This process is RIDICULOUS! Then she said to call after if I need my FVF credited back..just incase he declines...WHICH MAKES NO SENSE....because she said if I refunded then he won't have the option to decline.
THIS NEW 'CANCELLATION' REQUEST NEEDS TO GO!!!!

Maybe you want to page Trinton to this thread?
It does seem like the nightmare that won't go away!
