Can't sell diamond tester..because of the word "diamond".

I kid you not. Someone did not think this through..

For a better search experience, listings can’t have the word “diamond” in the title or description unless the listing is for an actual diamond. Imitation or simulated diamonds need to be described using the actual material the stone is made of, such as: Biolite, Cubic Zirconium, Glass, Plastic , etc. Please go back and edit your listing.

Yes..under the right category too.

That  also goes for:

-  Diamond Scale.

-  Diamond Cleaner.

- Diamond Color Chart.

Yet another example of the eBay bots stupidly running wild.  But does this tester only work on diamonds?  If it can test other stones, I would list it as a "Gemstone Tester".  You can clarify in the description that it is best used for testing diamonds (or to protect yourself better still, "those valuable colorless gems which are primarily used in engagement rings").

Another day, another work-around...

This shows exactly how stupid AI is. And how many millions eBay paid for it???? Now we're all paying for it.... :-(((

Do you think the entirety of eBay would explode epically taking out all of San Jose with it, if it was determined that someone somewhere also had diamond as a trademark, causing a logic loop when someone wants to list an actual diamond, not just something with diamond in the name?

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

The Gemstone trademark is fine.  That only covers the use of the term as applies to a brand of wine.

Any other use is protected from shenanigans by the wine's trademark holder.

I don't know, there was another complaint about not being able to use the word ambidextrous in a title for a completely unrelated item to what the brand AMBIDEXTROUS sells.

The Ambidextrous incident did cross my mind while I was posting.  But I suspect that is either just a fluke, or a problem with a completely clueless CSR.

I'm surprised that thread has not had the Trinton Signal applied to it yet in hopes of someone who can possibly get some action going can get some action going.  That one sounds like something they do need to investigate and correct.

There really is over 1445 listings with many of them that have thousands of sales on the listings that have been up for months and months. Even a couple Promoted listings in there all listed under:Jewelry & Watches>Jewelry Design & Repair>Jewelry Tools>Other Jewelry Tools.

So apparently some can sell them, all those listings are in complete compliance as far as eBay listing policies goes so what's up? I've sold lots of Diamond tip drill bits and white diamond perfume in correct categories, accurate names and descriptions. Rogue bot must be on the loose???

Can you tell me which category/sub-category you are listing this in? Only specific categories and sub categories are limited, so it may be that your tester simply needs to be moved to a more appropriate category.

I picture a trident signal, since Trinton is one letter off from Triton from Greek mythology.

Still, a trident signal might summon Sea Man instead (South Park reference).
