So I use Ebay to sell collectibles and coins mostly. I have these coin sets from the National Collector's Mint that are official tribute coins of 1889 Carson City Morgan Dollars and have "Copy" stamped right on the coin along with a serial number. Some of the ones I have are 1 oz pure silver and coin enthusiasts buy them. I also see tons of other such coins being sold right now on Ebay by other sellers.
But they ended up removing three of my ads while so many others continue to sell them. This sucks. These are collectibles, yet I can't sell them on Ebay? If they have had problems in the past with counterfeiting, that doesn't really apply to these types of coins. People selling counterfeits are not going to advertise them as copy coins.
I hope they change this strange policy, because I am looking at other websites to sell my stuff.

From what I understand Ebay's managed payments does not allow the sale of any coin or token although there there was some talk that there may be exemptions for the larger coin dealers. So yes, it is time for you to look at other selling venues.

That is a ridiculous policy. Ebay is now just for kids.

Some or all of them will get caught, sooner, or later, if they persist in listing prohibited items. On any given day, only a few of the thousands of speeders on the highway get caught.
I don't disagree with you about the replica coin policy, but eBay is not going to change it. I think the speed limit is too low on a lot of highways, but they're not going to change it.
I hope you can find somewhere else to sell these particular coins, as I can see why people wold get a kick out of them.

Might seem ridiculous to you, but the policy is pretty clear. All sellers should know the rules BEFORE listing. If you want to sell copies, you will need to do it somewhere else. It's ebay's platform, it's their rules.

Easy there Mr. Ebay. That copy coin policy came long after I joined Ebay and read their policy. You might read the Ebay policy twice a day to keep updated with it, but I surely don't.
I have no argument that the policy exists, and that it is THEIR policy, THEIR company, THEIR rules. And I do know that I can leave if I don't like it. All of that is obvious and goes without saying. It's sad you took this childish stance in your response.

The policy change on Replica coins appears to have happened in February, 2012.

It has been argued that ebay appears to have some quota allowing only a number of listings violating this policy to appear & remain, & then undertakes some removals when the number increases too much.
It appears you just got unlucky

I would not expect sellers to read over the policies every day. I would expect any time their is a change, sellers would review them. I would also expect a seller to REread the policy every year at least once, to refresh themselves with policy.
90+% of all the complaints I see here, are due to people not understanding the terms they are selling under. It's a sellers responsibility to know the TOS. This complaint or gripe, is 100% a failure to understand a long standing policy of selling copies or fakes. Seeing other sellers doing something against the rules is NOT a justification of one's "feelings" on the subject. It's also not a reason to think doing something should be ok since other sellers are doing it too.
So while you may "feel" I was being "harsh", I was simply pointing out, you as a business have a responsibility to know the rules. The rules say no, you can't sell that here. So take it someplace else that says, yes you can sell that here. Complaining about yourself getting caught breaking the rules is a time waster. If you would read and know the terms you are bound under, this would have never been an issue, or have been worth the time wasted complaining about it.
What looks childish to me, is a seller who is either ignorant of the TOS, or someone whining because the policy they agreed to, isn't the way they'd like it to be. Childish to me, is the one crying and complaining because they don't get it "their way".
So which is it? Did you know the rule and decide to break it, or were you ignorant of the rule's existence? Looks pretty childish to me, either way.
Sincerely,
Mr. eBay

No, you have never ben able to sell copy coins. When I first started listing coins in 2011 I was surprised and put off by the policy so they are now front and center in a display case and in a cheap decoy safe in a closet close to the front door in my living room when I go on vacation. My accountant called them part of an insurance policy. Problem solved.
If your copy coins are pure silver take them to any coin shop and sell them for spot.
