The board has been wonky all day.

Should be up & running for everyone now or very soon.
I await your post.

When I've encountered "Authentication Failure" usually a reload is all that is needed.
If you are in the middle of a long post, maybe copy the text to your clipboard just to be safe, then reload the page and try again.
If a reload isn't enough, open a new tab and try signing in to eBay again. Then go back and try again.
That said, many folks were having issues with the boards Monday afternoon, but all that should be taken care of by now.

@wheredidiputthatremote, when you wait too long to compose a message, your opportunity to do so will "time out" and the error message you received will appear.
If it does, just copy the message (Crtl-C). Back out of the composition screen and go back into the post you were replying to, and just paste (Ctrl-V) your response once a new composition box displays. At least that way, you won't have to type your message all over again. HTH

@tiramisu41 it was literally one liners, I use swype to text on my querty keyboard and am quick. It definitely didn't TO - internet connection is solid too. Definitely a bug

All well and good @wheredidiputthatremote, but as some other posters noted, they may have been tinkering with the site yesterday -- hopefully, to try and put in a fix that will block all the spam that has been making its way to the boards without detection. However, getting the error message/screen you described *is* what happens when the forum is working normally and you take too long to post a message.
It has worked that way for as long as I remember since Lithium took over hosting/moderating the the boards. When it does, you can either use the "reload" function another poster noted or copy/paste what you wrote as I suggested. However, I have found the reload function is often inadequate, as it only reloads the last copy of your message that was saved which may not be complete which is why I suggested copying what you have written using a keyboard shortcut and then pasting that back in to the composition text box when you return to trying to compose and post your message. Hope this helps, if not now, but in the future.
