Can someone explain the Google Chrome problem & how to identify Ebay listings that have the problem?

The only Chrome problem I've experienced is that the ASQ or Contact Seller link does not appear on ANY listing. That is, Chrome users cannot contact a seller directly from a listing. They have to use the generic link on the Feedback screen and mention the item number and title.

What this means is that potential buyers cannot access the seller's prepared answers to FAQ about the product, shipping, payment, etc. Also, in My eBay, a specific listing is not flagged (in red) as needing a response.

Or did you mean the Google Shopping issue with non-secure content, resulting in truncated seller descriptions and the "See full description" link?

Yes, I think it is the Google Chrome security conflict

some sellers here have mentioned that they checked to see if their listings have that problem, and I wondered how they checked

I use Google Chrome and haven't noticed any problems.  The contact area moved to the top right hand corner of the listing.  As far as I know, the sellers know what item I'm referring to without giving an item number or description.

Hi, @themagicmountain  If you are asking about the new https rules and "active content" requirements for listings, information and questions are available on this board:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Replacing-Active-Content/bd-p/activecontent

You will find a link that will "check" all of your listings for active content.

Please don't confuse Google Chrome with Google Shopping. Chrome is a browser in competition with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc. Google Shopping is a search engine that identifies and showcases products for sale that have common identifiers. Apparently the subject here is Google Shopping, which does not want active content or non-secure websites that will disrupt their search function and lead to customers being smacked with malware, viruses and other detrimental stuff. Sellers can clean up their listings by removing active content -- those Auctiva and Inkfrog scrolling galleries are examples -- and using https:// rather than http:// when citing self-hosted images within the Description area. Make sure your web host provides secure images and other content; most do, or their content will disappear from the internet! When I modified my listings in August and September, I simply used the bulk editor to edit my template (individual listings, one at a time) via the HTML tab. I added an "s" where necessary and inserted the recommended code to isolate a block of plain text (up to 800 characters) that would appear on mobile devices. Otherwise, eBay selects random phrases in no particular order that are pure gibberish! At the time I had about 25-30 active listings so the process was fairly quick, probably less than a half hour despite my pokey-slow dial-up connection. It did take a couple of hours, even overnight, for eBay to index the changes and eliminate the "see full description" link. ~~C~~

@tamaralea

I use Chrome, too. The links simply are not visible! I can see links for "see other items" and "seller's store", but nothing that leads to ASQ or eBay Messages.

Mine says "Contact Seller".  When I click on it, the item is definately mentioned in them message.  I wonder if it is has something to do with operating systems and Google Chrome.

Some of the problems I've seen mentioned, and blamed on Chrome, are photos not uploading and having to click twice to get a description.

The ASQ button is not appearing for many, but the appearance of the "Contact" button depends on browser width.

Please spread the word.

If a browser is not fully open, or is displayed on a smaller monitor like my 1024, a smaller header is supplied that is missing the contact link. If the browser is opened more fully, or displays more content by shrinking the font, then the extended panel is displayed to the right after a page refresh reloads the page in the wider view.  Below are the two views.

We have complained to eBay about the lack of a contact link in the smaller view.
