Is there a way to remove the amount you paid for postage from the packing slip you get when you print postage through eBay (the half of the page that contains the listing name, the to/from address, tracking number, postage paid, and shipping/handling charged)?
I see an option to display or not display the postage value on the shipping label, but nothing for the packing slip. I wanted to hide it since sometimes I end up "overcharging" customers by a dollar or two because I overestimated the weight by a few ounces or I get a discount through eBay. I don't refund it since I figure it should go toward my packaging/gas expenses.
Thank you!

I don't use Ebay packing slips - I use the one from Paypal since that's what I do first (verify payment and print packing slip). The one from Paypal shows the price the BUYER paid for shipping, not the actual shipping price since it is for the buyer's records and not the seller's. I would assume the one from Ebay is the same.

And you would be correct. The packing slip shows what the BUYER paid, not what it actually cost to ship.

I just printed one (via eBay) and it shows the postage paid for the package and what the buyer paid. See below (I edited out the identifying information). Are you using something separate for the packing slip?

That is your copy. That is not a packing slip.
Black marker will remove anything desired.

This is a packing slip, and does not display the actual postage paid by the shipper.
In this instance it shows what the buyer paid for "Parcel".
I shipped "Priority". That is not reflected here.

See where it says INSTRUCTIONS ? That's information for you, the shipper (in case you need it which most sellers don't after the first time) Some sellers save them for their records and to record the difference between what they pay and what the seller pays for s/h.
Don't enclose that in the package
Use the PRINT PACKING SLIP if you want to enclose something for the buyer. It shows what the buyer bought, the listing number, what they paid for the item and what they paid for shipping. You can customize it if you want to.
Next time you go to pay for postage, look at the options - you'll see one that refers to a Packing Slip. If not, you can also go to your seller hub and the section called ORDERS. There's a shipping labels section in there that has drop down menu allowing a packing slip to be created.

So, what do people normally use as a packing slip? The closest thing I could find was if you go to the individual payment on PayPal and click on it there's a "summary" of the purchase that can be printed. It includes the buyer address and the item name, which is all I'm really concerned about including (incase the shipping label on the package is damaged and the box is opened to look for an address).
Is there a way to stop the seller copy half of a shipping label from printing so I'm not wasting ink on it if I'm printing something else?
Thank you!

See the answer from city*satins just above. It is the same answer I would give.

I guess I just assumed we were supposed to include it in the package since it had the return address, the buyer address and the tracking number (incase the outer shipping label was destroyed). Would never think to keep a paper record or instructions for myself.
I see where to print the packing slip now! It was on the summary page on PayPal that I was looking at when I posted a few minutes ago. I don't see anywhere to do it directly from eBay, but if I go to My eBay > Selling > Sold > View Actions > View PayPal Transaction, it takes me to it.
Now I feel silly for using the wrong thing all these years.
Thank you for the help!

When you next go to print a shipping label notice that in the upper right corner of the page there is a link that says "printer and label receipt preferences". Click that and a dialogue box will open. Towards the lower part of that box is a "check box" next to a line that says "shipping label with receipt and instructions". Clear the X in that box and that solves your problem for domestic labels.
That will become your default option. You only have to do it once and it will carry forward. You do not have to do it each time.
I have yet to find a way to stop if from printing on international; labels.

Awesome, thanks! I don't mind printing on two separate pieces of paper, but I really hate wasting ink since it's so expensive so that helps a lot (I have an inkjet printer...want to get a laser printer someday but don't have the space right now).

I keep the online shipping record for anything that I ship. I just used one to submit in a message to the buyer in an INR case so they could see that I sent the item to the provided address. Some download all, and have that in the computer for reference. I have my paper copies handy for quick reference if needed.
I use one sheet of paper for all 3. Label, record, packing slip all fit on one.

You can easily print a packing slip when using eBay labels.
If you forget to do it at the time of purchase, you can do it afterwards from the Shipping Labels section - in the dropdown.
I have a double paper tray printer. I keep one loaded with half-sheets which I use for packing slips or single label purchases.

Glad I could help! I do the same thing myself - I've lost count of the times I've discovered that things I thought I was doing right, hearing right or thinking right for years were completely the opposite.
I've shared here before that for years I thought the words miniseries and biopic were pronounced
MIN IH' ZERIES and BI OPIC (like myopic) before I embarrassed myself by saying these words in front of others who failed to smother their laughter.
And you don't even want to know how I originally thought the name CLEOPATRA was pronounced.
Luckily, I can laugh louder at myself than others can at me. (most of the time, anyway)
Glad you've got on the right track with packing slips!
Cheers.
