I have 16 t-shirts i want to sell--each is different, but they are all a similar theme, so i thought I'd use that seller tool where I can put the whole bunch in one listing, but then customer could choose which one they want using the "create variations" tool
So instead of sizes, i numbered them (they are numbered in the pictures) but now i can't find a way to insert individual pictures of each one--the main photo just shows up in each individual listing. Am i just not looking in the right place?
They are all random sizes and different phrases on them, so i thought this would be the best way, but if i can't enter individual pics for each one, it would be better to just list each separately.
I was also hoping to add a discount price if customer buys three.
Thanks in advance!

You should be able to upload 12 photos for each option within a variation attribute. That means every selectable item (in only one droplist) can have 12 photos each. Here are two guides that might help you find your way.

Bring up the listing from your “Manage active listings page”. On the upper left is a link that says “Revise listing”. Click that.
On the new page, a little ways down on the left it will say “Variations” and slightly to the right will be an “edit”: button. Click that,
On the new page your main photo will be center screen. Just below that and to the left is a drop down menu defaulted to “use default photo”. Click the down arrow and change it to “size”.
That will then give you the ability to use unique photos for each of your variations.
The default photo will be the one that buyers see in the search results gallery photo but they will see the individual photos as they click the variations.

If you have a store, go to “Manage Store”. On the left of the page is a link “Manage Promotions”. That will bring up the page to do the discounts if buyer buys more than one. If you do not have a store I am not sure if it can be done. Maybe someone else can help with that.
