Can I deduct for shipping costs when reason is purchased by mistake no longer needed

Customer purchased $300 worth of products in 4 different orders, decided they made a mistake and ebay auto authorized returns for each one of them. So this 300.00 order will cost me a little over $100.00 in shipping fees both ways, is there a way to deduct my costs from their refund. Normally I would just suck it up, but this is alot of money to loose for something not my fault.

The outbound shipping does not have to be refunded because the buyer made a mistake. I have also checked in my listing buyer pays for return shipping. If the mistake was mine, I would always pay for the shipping.

This should answer your questions. If they changed their mind, they should pay return shipping, unless you indicated free return shipping in your listings.

Whether you can deduct shipping depends entirely upon what the return policy on your listing says about who pays for shipping for returns.

If you charged the buyer shipping going to them, you can deduct the shipping amount they paid from their refund.

If it was free shipping, there's nothing you can deduct.
