COMBINING SHIPMENTS

I have unhappy buyers because they are being FORCED to pay for buy it now items IMMEDIATELY.  Now I realize some sellers like that but some, such as myself, hate it.  Shouldn't this be MY decision!??  Ebay keeps encroaching more and more into what I always thought was "MY" business.  Some of my buyers are frustrated with ebay's policy and i've lost some sales because of it.  They love buying for the month and allowing a combined billing to save on shipping fees and they save a lot!  EBAY...LET ME RUN MY BUSINESS AS I SEE FIT!!!

You can still combine shipping.

Refund your customer the overpayment and call eBay customer service for a refund on the overpayment of FVF for shipping.

eBay has never denied me the refund on shipping FVF when I've called them about it.

It's a shame eBay doesn't do this AUTOMATICALLY. . .

Thank you for your help. Your right...they should do it automatically! Its a pain in the **bleep** to have to call them and i'm sure they count on that fact and hope we do nothing. We should all bombard them with calls...maybe things would change :).... Have a grand day!

That equalled $2.07  is shipping fees

I called and got refunded

I think for anything less then 2 cents I wouldn't call ~ LOL

IP is an OPTION for BIN...did you some how list a bunch using "sell similar", and IP was checked on the item you started with?

Just another new ebay policy that is not good for "all". Some buy outright so they don't lose an item and some put in their cart. I've had sellers confused over the cart thing as well. Ebay's improvement is often a horror for the seller. Their all these compute savvy people and forget that many are not. Easier is the better way always.

But would you clarify more about the IP? See what I mean...some of us are not too computer wise :)...

Just hit "revise" on any of your listings...upper left above the picture.
Scroll down to your Buy-It-Now price...below that is a Paypal check box...below that check box is another check box for "Require Immediate Payment with Buy-It-Now".
If that box is checked, that's your problem...at least for this one item.

I have gone through all that and there is no check. If you check in help you'll see that ebay is requiring immediate payment for all items under a certain amount and that amount is quite high. I'm unsure if all sellers have been hit with this or not. I'm also in the combined shipping program or application that ebay gives us...

eBay Furtively Changes Payments Policy

By: Ina Steiner

eBay is rolling out a new payments requirement, and not only are some sellers upset - some buyers aren't happy about the new policy either. Contributing to the controversy is the fact users say eBay has not notified them about the change.

The issue of Immediate Payment Required (IPR) came up during eBay's weekly chat session on Wednesday. A seller said he had been "pulled back into an old Beta test" that forced him to require immediate payment on all Buy It Now (BIN) listings, which forced shoppers to use the checkout cart to request a total for combined items.

An eBay moderator said it wasn't a test - it was a new change eBay was rolling out:

"We tested this a ways back but have recently made changes to help in our efforts of reducing Unpaid Item cases. There isn't an option to opt out of this feature but I encourage you to have your buyers use the cart and ensure your combined shipping rules are set up so that it's automatically being combined for your buyer."

The moderator replied to follow-up comments:

"Due to feedback from our sellers, we want to limit the number of non-paying buyers and in order to do that, we're pushing them through the checkout flow before showing the item as purchased/sold. We understand that it can impact some businesses more than others and we've shared that feedback with the relevant team."

One seller questioned eBay's premise that sellers had requested the change, reminding the moderator that sellers already had had the option of requiring immediate payment. "Ummmmm ...... that function is already there for the SELLER to choose, not to have eBay choose it for them."

"You can find the new policy language here:
"Immediate payment is automatically required on items priced below $1000, that have a specified shipping cost, and where PayPal is the only payment method offered."

Something I didn't know...

I had found that also...ebay does know how to upset buyers and sellers and create LESS sales. I wish they'd stay out of this!!! Let the seller decide. I'm getting more and more disgusted ...

Perhaps it is still listed as an option for BIN when we list, but the fact is that ebay is now sending an invoice for each BIN piece, demanding instant payment. I just sold four pieces to one buyer and she generously anted up shipping for each. I have NEVER SELECTED IPR for any of my listings. This is a great way to kill sales. It is just plain money-grubbing on the part of ebay, and it alienates both buyers and sellers. In June, I had a buyer purchase twenty or so items, and was dismayed that he paid shipping separately on each; I now realize that he was in a "beta test" -- one that ebay obviously considered successful. That seller has bought nothing from me since, although I stock a great deal of the sort of specialty merchandise that he desires. Concerning the first instance that I've cited, I have already messaged the buyer that I will refund the overcharge. I'll have to develop a strategy to avoid this mess. I expect that, in May 2018, it will be a moot point since I plan to give ebay the boot (unless they boot me first for being a complainer, a whiner, and "noise"). Devin Wenig is a serial sales-killer.

ebay is the antithesis of a free market....
Ironically, their stock price is set by a free/open market.

**general reply**

Sellers hollered for a long time that they wanted something done about bidders that don't pay.

Well, here it is, presented in Ebay's classic, ham-handed manner.  unamused

I, 1000%, agree! I've been telling them truths for years and still sell but the sad things is they don't seem to care. Call ebay to receive a credit for combing. A couple sellers have said they've done that and they've rec'd credits. Bombarding them just might help. I'm going to call on a recent one also. What also doesn't help is buyers will purchase based on a sellers extra charge for an item...i've wound up paying more for shipping a couple times but than maybe they'll return to buy from me. Ebay needs to take their nose out of SOME of what they have their NOSE in!

One way is IF they contact you from the item page...to ask a question...ebay has a "send buyer an offer". You can do that...don't have to reduce by much. IF the buyer buys it they don't have to pay immediately. The only way i've found but I'm not having much luck getting buyers to do that...i tell them to just send me a note "want" and i'll send them back a message with an offer. Their not doing it...but i love them all 🙂
