Hi there, I have an Ebay store called Foxy4closet., I have been re-selling for the past 18 years almost 19 on Ebay! I have been working so hard the past few months getting all of my inventory prepared and listed for the Holidays this year. Currently I have 100 listings active with only 500 more to go!:)....My question is; Am I banking on this year too much? Do you think it will be a prosperous one? I have invested thousands on shoes and I want to do more than pray for a successful season, any advice?

depends on many things - your inventory is shoes... one like me would say - that's not necessarily christmas only product - so in that respect I would say no, because you can sell those shoes at anytime of the year.

I don't know much about selling shoes, but I'd consider setting up store categories for this---and maybe think in terms of Season and use: People want cozy slippers for winter, they want heels for business or Holiday Parties, sturdy boots for outdoors...you don't have hundreds of items now, but having a way to group like with like in an ebay category will help buyers find what they want when you have too much to easily scroll through.
Because of fit issues, I'm not sure shoes are a big item to give as a gift (could be wrong), so you really are targeting people who want shoes for themselves, I'd guess....maybe for some items I'd mention "Gift yourself this pair of..." to keep the Holiday Season in mind.
Think like a buyer, especially a Holiday Season buyer.

Hun, just do the best you can at this point. Lots of problems with our country and across the world. Always try to keep Christmas in your heart if it turns out to be a bleak season.

You might want other items in your product line. Shoes are hard to fit and that makes mail order sales a problem for them. Can be a lot of returns.

I Would Keep Praying, As We All Will Be!!

I'm banking on this being a slow year, sales-wise. But that'll leave me more time to enjoy the holidays, won't it? 🙂

Ask Putin -- he's holding a lot of atomic cards right now. . ..

Just me I guess since many other people have no problem with it. But I really, really don't want to by pre-owned shoes. Just not appealing to me at all.

I think it is going to be a weak Christmas Season for many categories. Your new items can do well as you have taken some very nice pictures. The used shoes wouldn't really sell as Christmas Gifts. If you are going to do 500 listings, perhaps focus on the new items first. Best of Luck

Same here.
I can go to Walmart and get a new pair for $20.

i didn't notice (look) but I agree, if they are used they are not going to pass well for gifts, not saying some wouldn't buy but I don't think majority would be buying used shoes as gifts either.

Yes. Social media marketing. For fashion it's practically a 'must' part of the strategy.
