I think that any resources eBay spends on trying to compete with or be Amazon are a complete waste and only serve to detract from their core business. Might be a better plan to do a one time buyout of Chinese sellers and big box stores with the idea of driving them all onto the Amazon platform. Concentrate on their core original business and increase profits with honesty and integrity. Yeah, I know, it's crazy.

I would need more details, but if they protect you from scams I could see a use for it.
It's laughable to think that ebay will EVER take responsibility for ANYTHING. You can rest assured that sellers will still be on the hook if something goes wrong.
