Buyers with Zero Feedback

I have noticed a pattern in the last week where I have had several sales to buyers with zero feedback.   These sales always seem to be from different states that I don't normally do business in since I sell tropical plants: Colorado, North Dakota, Indiana.   When I check on the buyers' pages they all have joined the same day as the purchase has been made. I'm getting a funny feeling.  Either Ebay is marketing really well, or some sort of sting is being set up in tropical plants.  Any ideas??

Since plant sales are regulated by each individual state it is unlikely that there would be a sting  operation involving more than one state.

How many sales?

20?  4?

4 sales in the last 72 hours.  No sales to anyone with zero feedback in 3 months prior.  All sales to different states.  I average 5-10 sales a week.

@icebluecycad

I typed into Google....

"Buying cycads online" and eBay was the 4th item on the list.

Then I clicked on the eBay link and you were

2nd

3rd

4th

5th

6th

9th

12th

16th

20th

My guess is that buyers are finding you via google and joining eBay to buy from you.

Now that's got to feel good.

Thank you. That would be wonderful if that is the case. Much appreciated.

I think that most people joined on the same day of their first purchase, because you don't need an account just to browse. I know I did. Did you?

Sting?  Are some tropical plants illegal?  Serious question, I really have no idea.

If you can't ship a certain plant to a certain state, make sure you use 'problem with buyers address'.

Slot machines and other items have the same problem, and of course there isn't a way to block them.

They are too busy creating garbage mobile pages when most smartphones now probably have more power than your older laptop - along with amazing screen definition.
