Hi Everyone! I have been trying to sell an espresso maker since Black Friday which has actually sold twice. The first buyer never ansered my messages and I cancelled the sale, blocked and reported the buyer and relisted. Now my item has sold again two days ago and the new buyer has ignored my payment requests and is also ghosting me. I have now paid TWO promotional fees which eBay has taken from my bank account and so far NO PAYMENT! How does eBay justify taking promotional fees from sellers and not suspending buyers accounts for this behavior??

Lesson learned. Never use ebay UP FRONT promotional fees. Never Bold or add additional title or pay for Gallery Plus if it is not included/free. Never list in more than one category for an extra fee. These are all just money makers for eBay that do little or nothing to actually sell your item. I do use the Promotional option at 2%, pay ONLY if item sells. Good luck.

Use "fixed price" listing with buy it now "immediate payment required".

Here is how to handle those who haven’t paid. When 4 full days (96 hours) pass without payment, the winning bidder who didn’t pay gets a strike, the seller can get some fees back, neither party can leave feedback and the item relists automatically.
Leaving positive feedback with negative remarks is a violation and can result in the SELLER getting reprimanded.
At this time, the only way to avoid nonpaying winners is to list as Buy It Now with Immediate Payment Required and don’t accept any offers.

Unfortunately they won’t refund the upfront Promotional fees. So I’ve been charged $7 for an item that I didn’t get paid for. I feel like eBay is milking sellers that way. I will use Buy it Now immediate payment required going forward.
