I had a buyer to purchase an new item and claimed to have used it. They opened a return as not as described .As this was a $275. item as always I was ready to take the loss ..I awaited the return and item showed delivered..I was puzzled as I had not received the item back..It showed it was signed for and ebay sent the message to refund by a certain date..I contacted my carrier and ask about the package and showed the name who had signed for it..She remembered and sent me to the address where the package was dropped..The person was nice as they brought out a medium flat rate box with the tracking # that was linked to the return.Clearly the item I sent would not fit in the box .I ask what came in the box? A tee shirt..It took about 3 times contacting ebay to get it fixed as they jumped in and refunded the $$ back to the scammer..But in the end I did receive my funds and the scammer kept the item...So be on the watch for this scam of sending a package back to a random address in your town so it will show delivered...I just lucked out and they goofed on adding signature required delivery...User id is cevinetraz beware! I also reported the buyer as it looks to be in vein as they are still on ebay! Has this happen to you? Hoping this is not going to be a new scam!
Actually, this scam scenario is pretty old. Since USPS now has GPS coordinates recorded when a parcel has been 'delivered', the scammer process has become a bit more 'refined'.
