For many of the last eight years I have been selling on eBay, I have achieved a 100% seller rating and top-rated seller status in many occasions from over 1000 transactions. I have always been committed to describing every single item accurately and honestly, but the abuse of some buyers in this community is absurd. Add to that eBay's attitude of lack of ethics, morality, and justice toward sellers treatment.
I don't like victimizing my self, the sole purpose of this discussion is to share my terrible experience with some buyers and to provide a warning to the rest of the community of eBay's customer service practices and their non-existent seller protection promises in two incidents that occurred to me personally in the past month.
First incident
Buyer opened a not as described case claiming the item to be defective and not as described. This claim is impossible to be valid! Why? At that time, the buyer hasn't received the item, and I have NOT even shipped the item yet. They sent me a message arguing that they changed their mind! That's absurd! eBay customer service had no explanation to this and offered no support even with adjusting the defect rating that was incriminated in my seller evaluation because of this unjust claim.
Second incident
Buyer followed the same process opening item to be a defective claim. The item was proprietary solid state drive. I argued the buyer to provide me with a valid proof that the item is indeed defective by either:
1- Taking a short video of the SSD in the socket not working
2-Providing a statement from a computer shop they installed it at stating that part is indeed defective.
The buyer proceeded with admitting that they have no way to continue fulfilling my request as they tried to sell the item to another party and that party changed their mind about buying it.
Although in the case communication messages the buyer admitted that the item is being returned because they changed their mind in the case page. Yet, eBay still decided the outcome of the case against my self.
Contacting eBay to block the return was a waste of two hours of my time as the manager argued that eBay can't do anything about it and I could only appeal after the item is received as this could be filled under seller protection cases. eBay's appeal team was just as useless.. defect rating was incriminated again in another unjust incident and they weren't able to even modify the defect rating. Their offer? 7$ refund of the return shipping cost. I felt very insulted, refused the offer, thanked the agent, and hang up.
eBay is not worth it, no matter what the situation is, eBay will continue always to accept a return. Once I clear my current inventory, I'm NEVER selling on this website and advise everyone not to or be extra careful with this shady organization.
