Buyers Purchase Of Multiple Items Split Into Two Sales By Ebay

I've had this problem for years now and ebay can't explain why this keeps

on happening. I offer 5% off of 5 items and 10% on 10 items, occasionally

ebay will split the order into two sales sticking me with an extra transaction

fee by paypal. i know the buyer is putting everything in the shopping cart

not making two separate orders because they are getting the discount.

Is this happening to anyone else.  I would appreciate any input. thanks.

I really do not worry to much about the paypal transaction fee (0.30) or (0.05)  My priced are geared with that cost built into each item not each transaction.

But that wasn't the point of the thread.

I would't like it either, if I had to pay an extra 30 cents and go thru the hassle of combining 2 shipments in one box, paid for by 2 payments.

It's kinds like the person in front of you that makes 2 or 3 separate purchases at the register instead of making one and splitting it out when they get home. Do you like to wait double the usual time to go through a checkout lane?

Ebay is going to make sure that the 80% or whatever has to go thru PP happens, no matter what happens to the sellers.

it's a principle thing. also if it's happening to me it has to

be happening to other people too. an extra .30 multiplied

by who knows how many transactions over years now. how

much money do you think that is?

then clicking Remove next to several items on the next page --

(which removed items simply reappear the next time cart is clicked )

to pay first with one card through that PayPal account --

then with another card through same PayPal account the next time.

If remove from cart doesn't remove them completely, how DO you get rid of them if you don't want them anymore?

I think I used the cart once since its inception. That was enough.

When you click remove you get an option to "set the items aside" for later purchase.
