hi. I just sold an item last week, It has been delivered to the buyer, I have the proof.
Now, I just got an email from Paypal saying that the buyer "didn't aprove the transaction",... what does this mean?!!! Also, this buyer's ebay account has in parenthesis like 169 , which is a good feedback, right? But no activity at all in the last 2 years - no new ratings neither as buyer or seller.
So this seems very strange to me.
Paypal says they are investigating. Should I get worried? Would I get my item back? what do you thing is going to happen?
thanks!!

Upload the tracking information into the case - copy the tracking number and the related info. Yes, I know it's already there, but you have to enter it again. Submit it. Paypal should find in your favor fairly quickly. I've had several of these, and they're usually closed out in my favor in a few hours. I suppose you could call Paypal after submitting and have them go ahead and close it out if you don't want to wait.
Paypal policy requires proof of shipment (not necessarily delivery) to the address on the Paypal payment, and Paypal is supposed to cover you if you have this information, assuming nothing has changed recently.
An unauthorized transaction means either the buyer or the credit card company doesn't recognize the charge, for whatever reason. It could be done automatically by the CC if the buyer doesn't do a lot of shopping online, or if the purchase was something out of the ordinary. The buyer or their spouse may not recognize the charge because of the way it's entered, or...they could be pulling a fast one. When a buyer goes to their CC you'll never be able to find out. It's completely OUT of Paypal's hands not, all they can do is submit the info and let the CC decide, however Paypal is supposed to back you if you have tracking info to the Paypal address.

You probably won’t get your item back. Did you upload the tracking number? All you need is proof of shipment to be covered under seller protection. I would contact PayPal again and tell them to release the hold on your funds if they haven’t already. The investigation, if they are even doing one, is their problem. You are covered by seller protection if you have proof of shipment to the address on the PayPal transaction 🙂

what does this mean?!!!
It means the paypal account holder or associated credit card holder claims he did not make - or at least does not recognize - that purchase.
As missgen stated, you are covered if you met the PayPal Seller Protection requirements and make sure PayPal has your tracking information.

I have had this happen a few times. File a claim with paypal. As long as you have the tracking showing delivery, they will release the funds. But you will not get your product back.
One customer wrote back a few weeks later after filing the complint saying his wife bought the item and he did not know about it. Some people jump right to a complaint and never send a message asking about it first.

@chiroacu How do you file a claim with PayPal as a seller? And why is that even necessary? It’s a chargeback. All that PayPal needs is proof of shipment. And sellers can’t file claims.

Ebay and paypal will take care of it when you provide a tracking number. But I still call paypal to open a case, just as an added measure to make sure I keep the payment.
