I had several listings for ski accessories - ski goggles with shields and just the shields themselves. Someone bought my listing for the goggle shields, opened a return case saying that they weren't aware it was just shields. My listing was very clear that it was just shields - description, photos, etc. I told them that I don't accept returns, and it went back and forth. Ultimately I accepted the return and sent a label. The buyer didn't mail the item back within eBay's time frame and eBay closed the case and I received my money. Fast forward a little over 2 weeks - I receive a package from the buyer, the label states "goggle shields" and the return paper is folded inside the shipping label. Inside is a disgusting case with dirty, torn, and smelly goggles - not even the brand that I was selling. What can I expect the buyer to do? Were they just being petty and wanted to send this? Ebay closed this case weeks ago and I've had zero contact with this buyer for almost 2 months. Is there anything I'm supposed to do? Is there a chance that this buyer will try to open a case or a PayPal case?

Yes, eBay return labels don't expire so if it was your label, you paid for that return shipping.
Now the buyer can get their money back within 180 days (6 months) if they file with PayPal and provide that return tracking number. Or they can file a chargeback with their card issuer using the return tracking for that refund.
Since eBay already closed the eBay case, eBay cannot help ... except charge you another $20 for either PayPal or the card issuer, plus bill you the full refund i.e. no FVF refund, and reward you a defect. If you get that PayPal/card issuer payment dispute, your best outcome is to not challenge the refund, to avoid the fees.

At this point eBay has closed the buyer case in your favor so that should be the end of it. Did the buyer use your return label to ship the item back or did they purchase one on their own and send it that way? Buyer may try to appeal but eBay should still rule in your favor if eBay in fact stands by their policy since the buyer did not return within the time frame.
The buyer may attempt to open a chargeback but eBay does provide seller protection should they attempt to do so.
