Buyer opened a INR through PayPal after receiving

I know how this works with eBay, but never had somebody open an INR through PayPal.

This is the guy who tried to scam me AND gave me negative feedback.

The tracking number was already in the case. Should I escalate it to PayPal? It says that I have that option.

Thanks.

So when you click tracking number (that's in blue on the lower right side, under Shipping info) it pulls up the tracking number? If so, call paypal. If it doesn't pull up the tracking number you have to get it added before you call or escalate.

Since the buyer opened an INR with PayPal,  you need to respond to paypal.

If your buyer previously filed a INR with ebay and that case closed, the buyer can then file a case with paypal.

No, they never filed an INR through eBay. They did try tor return it through eBay, but eBay closed their returns because they never sent the items back.

That case should be easy to prove on Pal Pal. You only have to sent them a copy of the delivery confirmation. Hopefully It was NOT more than 3 months out.

It is a good idea for all Sellers to copy and keep delivery confirmations because they are only on the USPS site for 3 months...   😉 Sugar

So, take a screenshot of the USPS tracking on their website and send that?

Enter the tracking number into the case. Then call PayPal.

@vintige

Agreed. Uploading the tracking number to the Pay Pal case is the most important and first thing that you need to do.

The tracking number was already in the case when I got an email about it this morning.

I do not see an option to enter one.

Here is a screenshot of what I see (it is photoshopped to remove personal info Smiley Happy)paypalcase.PNG.

Sorry, I know. I've just had enough of this guy. I thought I had lost him after eBay closed his other return. He is pretending that he does not know what he is doing, but he is actually a lot smarter than he looks.

He is driving me crazy with his silly messages about how he is going to turn me in to the FBI and his PayPal money requests.

Do you have any tips on how to get rid of him?

It actually has the actual tracking number there, but I replaced it with "TRACKING NUMBER". It comes up and shows delivered on Feb. 27th as I told the buyer.

The "option" to enter the tracking number should be in the case which is open in PayPal.

You have to log into the case in PayPal.

Usually the best way at this point is to ignore him.

Seriously, so hes lying, hes not the first person to do that nor will he be the last.  Keep your cool. Dont reply to emails. Dont banter back and forth. Its not an attack on who you are, he doesnt know you, hes just a scammer trying to get to you. Respond professionally in all cases. For comments I would have written: (in addition to adding the tracking number in the proper place in the form)

Paid for on XX/XX/XX

Shipped on XX/XX/XX

Per tracking number XXXXXXXXXXXXX delivered XX/XX/XX

And nothing more.

So he rants and raves about turning you into the FBI, So what. (Like the FBI doesnt have better things to do with their time). Then its going to be hes taking you to court, or the police, or ebay, again, so what. You havent done anything wrong. So stop feeling like you have to defend your honor.  I get a semi nut case about every 100 buyers, and a real doozy every 500 or so. Usually you can control how crazy they get by staying professional at all times, sometimes that still doesnt calm them down but it doesnt help one bit for you to engage it.

Dont be suprised that after PayPal closed the case in your favor he opens a Not as Described case. If he does the only reply to any of his emails should be "Return for a Refund". Nothing more.

If the tracking number is in the case. I would call PayPal. The last time I had to there was an automated system which asked if was calling about a case and when I confirmed that I was, the case automatically closed while I was waiting on hold.  But it has been awhile. I would call PayPal and see how to proceed.

If you call PP, do NOT tell the autobot system it's an eBay case or they'll shunt you straight to eBay.

Thank you to everyone.

the_fancy_fox - I did what you suggested and sent a message via PayPal with what you said. Actually, I did repsond professionally at first, and did stop after he asked me if I had ever been in jail. This is not an excuse. It's more of an FYI.

I'll try to be more porfessional in my replies from now on.

Will call eBay this afternoon and ask them to close it.

Thanks!
