A buyer purchased an item that USPS tracked as "delivered in mailbox". He purchased the item on May 13 and it was delivered on May 18. Is there a way to remove this feedback? I haven't sold much this year, so my feedback took a hit.

My negative feedback was removed within 10 minutes. I blocked the buyer, then used the Feedback Removal Tool and provided the tracking number and stated that it was delivered.
I hope this can help someone else!

Why would you not just reply in a calm and professional manner: "Tracking shows item to have been delivered 5 days after purchase."

Yes, that was correct. One of few times eBay will remove negative feedback is if the buyer claims you didn't ship and tracking shows delivered.

Recently, I received notice form a buyer that his DVD had not arrived. I checked tracking, discovered his order was out for delivery and notified him of the progress; a few days later, he gave me a NEG. Returning to tracking, I noticed the item had inadvertently been forwarded to a neighboring town, but was on its ways back to his city. I appealed the NEG, won and he replaced the rating with a glowing comment. In this situation, I do not think he considered that his NEG would have any effect on my selling.

I didn't want to get into a confrontation with the buyer. He purchased the item 25 days before his negative feedback. He didn't message me prior to that. He has also left the same review to a previous seller. My feedback rating went from 100% to 90% because I sold just a few items in the past 12 months.

I am thankful that eBay takes such quick actions for the seller.

I just had this same situation yesterday. It's only happened once or twice before and to the best of my recollection Ebay removed the negative feedback pretty quickly, but this time Ebay sent me a reply stating that they were going to give the buyer 10 days to revise the feedback otherwise I have to live with his decision. Perhaps I did something wrong in how I reported it but this seems pretty outrageous and I can't figure out how to contact Ebay to make clear that USPS tracking indicates it was delivered on time.

This is a very old thread and will be locked by the mods soon, so for that reason, it's always best to start your own thread when you have an issue or question.
That said, it sounds like you sent a Feedback Revision Request to the buyer, rather than using eBay's Feedback Removal tool. You can find the correct tool to use here: https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp/feedback

Thanks for the reply and it appears you're correct. I didn't realize there were two different paths to doing this and just clicked on the one Feedback Revision Request next to the negative on my feedback profile page. I did that after spending some time looking around at my options. I just wish Ebay would make these things easier to navigate and stop constantly making little tweaks and changes so that every time I run into a situation like this I have to spend half a day trying to figure out what to do. I'm old enough to remember when this was easy. You'd think after more than 25 years it wouldn't be more difficult than it was when I first got started.
Now if you'll excuse me I have to go yell at kids to get off my lawn.

Thanks again - I followed the link you provided and after about a half hour the negative feedback was removed. This one had me stressed out because I sell fishing tackle that I manufacture and right now is my busiest time of the whole year so I definitely did not need that black mark impeding my sales.
Are you kidding me right now? Those darn kids are back on my lawn already!

Glad to hear it was removed! It's worth mentioning that a single negative review doesn't typically hurt you at all, and in fact some buyers are more suspicious of sellers with 100% feedback than those with 99.9% or similar. Obviously if it falls too low, that's bad for you, but that typically takes at least a few recent negative feedbacks (feedback percentage is calculated on a rolling 1-year basis), and one general rule I've understood some buyers follow is to avoid any seller with feedback below body temperature (98.6%), though of course every buyer will have their own feelings on that. No need to stress if you end up with another one at some point!
