So I sell on eBay as a way to make side money, but I pride myself in making sure I post accurately, communicate with buyers, and ship items quickly (and even offer multiple shipping options).
I recently sold a Raid Controller that was brand new (accepted the buyers offer). Everything went smoothly (or so I thought), and then weeks later I get negative feedback. I message the buyer and asked what was wrong. They said they sent the item directly to a “client”, who said the item was scratched, wasn’t new, and a CD was inside. It’s completely bogus! So, I got curious and went to that buyers page, and they have the item listed for sale!!! Not only that, but when I checked the feedback they had left for others- most ALL feedback they leave is negative!!
Is there anything I can do?
I don’t make more than 1-5 sales a month, so this really hurt my feedback rating.

Place the buyer on your BBL, if you haven't done so already.

I can see the unit is scratched in the picture. It's out of the box and does not show anything else, including a box.
It does not look new, guessing the buyer purchased to sell to another as they stated, but then had an issue. Maybe they now just kept it to resell vs. refunding it back to you?

Unfortunately you got one of those hothead buyers that we all take the risk of dealing with selling online. You did have the chance to check their feedback before accepting their offer so be sure and do that next time. It's easy to just be happy for the offer and forget but that's what it's there for. Ebay seems to allow leaving feedback that's always bad, as if some buyers have nothing but bad transactions. You can try to object, but it probably is what it is.
Your other feedback is good, and looking at it the one neg doesn't make me think you're a bad seller. Just vet your buyers better if you have the chance, which with an offer, you do.
Maybe also consider having separate buying and selling accounts. Good luck~

Your looking at the wrong item- I am talking about the the: “Intel RS2BL040 512Mb PCI-Express 2.0 x8 SAS/SATA 6.0Gbps Raid Controller” .
They had an issue with the item, but have it listed as “Brand New In Box”. So again, it being new and used, it not true.

That’s what I was thinking. But I wasn’t sure what category to put it under / what would give me the best odds of eBay removing the feedback.

Yes, I definitely need to do this. Which before you mentioned, I had forgotten is still an option through eBay. Thanks for the reminder!

You must be looking at another listing, the OP's listing only shows the box.

Click on VIEW ORIGINAL ITEM
It's easy not to notice that eBay is showing you a currently running listing instead of the ended one. You have to ask eBay to display the ended one.
Which does have a box.

Unless you took it out and inspected it, how can you be sure it wasn't scratched?

I know this doesn't help your situation, but I find it comical they left a negative for scratched CD. Last I knew in the IT world the rule was throw the driver disc away and get the latest drivers from the manufacturer. Not sure what kind of amateur would even leave a feedback like that.
If they are abusive buyer and leave lots of negatives call CS and point that out to them. Also if you think they are drop shipping it then you could report them for that. Probably wouldn't hurt to reply to the feedback since the negative might look bad to potential buyers.

Actually that's a good point, since the original round seals have been broken and regular household tape placed over them. This suggests that the item might be new and unused, but at the very least was opened and might have been used.
neenee, did you open the box and inspect the item? Since it has clearly been previously opened, this would have been prudent to do.
Just showing you the picture that reveals this :

Yes, I clicked on 'view original' (title is the unit OP stated) and it shows the unit, which I first thought was 'out of a box'... but it was the box I was looking at- anyway, the box is scratched so it didn't look new. Only thinking this is the feedback that the original buyer got from his buyer?

I definitely wouldn't consider a scratch on a box to be indicative of there being a scratch on the item inside. It would have to be a major gouge before I'd be wondering if the damage was also on the item.
