Buyer is harassing me, was blocked, but msgs still going through

I have a foreign buyer (0 feedback) who is harassing me, sending multiple msgs on various items oferring 10% of the listed price, I blocked the user but msgs still going through 😕

Unsure why, I have the "Don't allow blocked buyers to contact me. (Buyer won't see the "Contact Seller" button on your Q&A page.) " turned on under "Buyer Requirements".

There is no transaction with the user and I've never replied.

That's how I understand it works.

You'd have to block them Before their first message to you,

for them to not be able to contact you again.

It happened to me, too.

Got a crazy message with an insane offer from a buyer,

I blocked him .... had the same settings you do...

..and he couldn't to message me.. asking why I blocked him?

Just delete and ignore.

Not if he still wants the 90% off deal! Then he will message  again under new id and then get blocked there too. These people tend to do themselves in sometimes

Thanks. It's 2018, eBay's engineers still haven't found a way to actually block someone of msging you if it says he's block from msging you? 99% of the times you won't be able to do it before he ever msgs you. Weird.

HAHAHA. Won't that make the function pointless then? That's unless you had a working time machine to go back in time before you got the message... that's the only way to know that the buyer will be block-worthy in the future before they ever messaged you. And here my time machine just ran out of plutonium.

Ebay code believes the two of you have an active relationship regarding a sale and will allow comunication up to 90 days.

They want buyers and sellers to be able to comunicate until the item in question would be archived.

Also you need to check the radion button "do not allow blocked buyers to contact me" or something like that in site preferences

We had the same thing happen to us a few weeks ago. We never sold to this buyer he looked at some items was rude right from the start. We tried to help him since he was complaining about that items he was interested in are not combining in the cart. He just kept getting more rude so we knew he was going to be a trouble buyer. We thanked him for his interest and told him we do not want to do business with him and blocked him. But he kept messaging us. So we had to call ebay. They helped us and no more messages.
