This past Saturday, I had a buyer with interest in two of my items. The first item he bought and paid for, the second item, I countered back with an offer which he accepted on Sunday, but since then, he has ignored all payment reminders.
The bind I am in, and solely of my own doing, is that I packed both books together in one box and already paid for the shipping off the one order since they were going to the same address.
I don't think I am at the point to do an unpaid item claim yet, but I am also running down the clock on timely delivery because of purchase of the shipping.
Is there anything else I can do other than continue to send the reminders, or should I just cancel the first order, refund the buyer, block and move on from this scenario?
Thanks.

I would mark it shipped, upload the number and then just sit on it until the buyer either contacts you or pays for the other one.

Well to cover yourself: take the one item not payed for out of the package and ship.
When and if the other is payed for you get to pay again for shipping.
One must never do the shipping combined until all is payed for: it can get expensive,

What is your handling time for shipping?
That is a dilemma because if you wait then you can/will get a ding on your selling metrics.
You can claim unpaid on the fifth day (it will show in list of cancelation reasons)
You can unpack / repack sold item cancel original label and repurchase new label

Not all buyers check for messages so you might want to phone the buyer. Their phone number should show under order details. Go to sellers hub orders, click on the arrow next tot that transaction and click on order details.

Marking it as shipped doesn't prevent it from getting a late shipment ding.

As suggested, repack the paid item and ship. After four days, if he's not paid, you can cancel the transaction and relist the item.
