Recently sold an item for the first time. I sent the package to the paypal address even created the label directly from ebay. It was supposed to arrive today but I see it was forwarded to a different address. I have signature confirmation and insurance on the pacakge. "USPS was unable to deliver item - problem with the address" and it was later "forwarded to a different address because of forwarding instructions or becasuse the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect."
I understand ship forwarding is a popular scam. Wondering what steps I can do now since the package hasn't been delivered yet. Or am I overreacting?

Doubt you can see the address it was forwarded to, suppose you could go to the post office in the morning and find out if they can see where? Google the address and see if it is an empty lot or check out the house/owner it's going to?
Expensive to get it recalled, expensive or highly scammed item? That would be my determining factors--

This is acctually a service that is provided to buyers who sign up to have items forwarded.
There are legitimate reasons like it is their summer / winter home.
You could have the package recalled.
I put in big, black letters - do not forward. If undeliverable, return to sender.

HOW is a low FB member with NO selling history able to list a $1,000.00 item?

GO TO your local Post Office FIRST thing this morning. Find out if they have that second address. If it's outside the US (as I suspect), do whatever you can to get that forwarding stopped. Pay the $12 or whatever it is for an intercept.
